3 C7 Z06's, replaced 3 chipped, sand blasted windshields
I have had 3 C7 Z06's, I like to do HPDE's, and I have had to replace all three windshields because of rock chips and being sand blasted. I realize "if you want to play, you have to pay", however, I was trying to find some Nascar type peel offs, and while there is a few out there, they are pretty expensive. So I was thinking maybe using the Expel paint protector on my windshield, or even plain old clear window tint. Has anybody tried this, and if so, good or bad results. My thoughts are using either for the weekend, peel it off and do it again for the next event weekend.

Get the above and have the best local 'clear bra' installer install it for you.
The other option is: www.clearplex.com which I've used many times with decent to good results, again depending on the skill set of the installer.
However next time I'm going with the windshield-armor product.

Clearplex was the solution I was going to recommend. I opted not to use it when I had the rest of the car wrapped in xpel/suntek as it was roughly $500 for the install and my glass deductible is less than that.
My glass is pretty blasted though and looks terrible up close. Doesn't really impact anything from behind the wheel, but is noticeable if you focus on it.

Im pretty sure 3m makes protective sheets thats designed to protect the rear panels . Maybe you could check that out. I think they are thinner than the expel and therefore clearer.

You really need to only think about using a product specifically designed for the windshield, as anything else, even something relatively optically clear like Suntek, is going to cause distortions.
