I just bought a DSOM C7Z and Ive literally been told by 5 people that its an old man color and they were expecting a 50 year old guy with a visor and golf gear to step out of it.
Wtf is up with that? Im 31 and Ive loved the color since it was available on SS Camaros in 1999.
So my question is... how old are you? Do you like DSOM? Do you consider it a color more suitable to older guys?
Reviving an old thread as I've been randomly searching posts on DSOM Z06s. As a partial DSOM owner (who is not yet 50 years old), I think it's a great color. Apparently McClaren thought so too when it featured the P1 in a very similar color a couple of years back:
I'm 71 and if I could have found an orange Z Vert when I bought my Z, I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. My wife thinks they're awful but then what does she know?
It's a great color. Sounds like they're jealous. They could make the comment about Corvettes in general I suppose. Meanwhile they probably drive an SUV...aka station wagon.
You bought a DSOM Z06!?!?!? You must be ancient! Or really lucky to have found and own one of the BEST colored vettes (oh oh, thinking this is going to bring on some debate)...
When I saw a DSOM Z06 in a showroom I KNEW it would be our next color, no question about it... In no way is owning a DSOM Z06 related to age, it's a color preference no different than those that own White, Red, Black, Blue, Green, etc...
I've had as many young "kids" drooling over the car as I've had "older" admirers.. You love the color, that's all that matters.. enjoy it!
I love the color but they didn’t offer it New in 17 when I bought so I went with Long Beach red and I’m 34. Wish they offered krypton green or snake skin green would have bought that. I like my sports cars brightly colored.
I have a DSOM 2016 auto Zo6. I am 56 and have received multiple compliments from both the young and old on the car and color. I could care less what people think and enjoy the car as much as possible. I even like and have the black wheels which is supposed to be a younger thing. Much easier to care for Enjoy your vehicle.
