Default C7 Z06 A8 Transmission Upgrade

I'm past 1000 rwhp on my Z06 and I'm looking to strengthen the A8 transmission. Any ideas?

When it fails, take it apart and find out what failed. Build whatever broke, out of a stronger material. Drive it hard...

Repeat

These cars are too new to have much of an afternarket. Likewise, people rarely modify them unlike Mustangs.

i run a circle d converter. seems to work well! no other trans mods yet besides tune maxing around 1200-ish (have no dig pulls on full boost yet to determine reliability)

Thanks for the info in regards to the Circle D.

So I haven't heard of the A8 falling apart from 1000rwhp but I also haven' t seen anything to really improve the A8 either.

We have installed a 4L80 in a C7Z before that was around 1200 HP... I have one for sale if anyone is interested.

Nope. These transmissions are so advanced and so technically precise that I wish the aftermarket luck on dealing with these. When the transmission has separate calibration data for each solenoid that must be programmed into the TCM you are in for a world of hurt by modifying it.

I have had the TCM modified by the HP Tuner tool. Was a pain in the ***! I have a 2017 so we had to send it off to HP Tuners to get it unlocked.

But that's all the mods to the training.

If it's the one out of the wrecked Z, maybe you can get a good discount on it.

Although if it is out of that car, you might want to make sure the owner of the car is ok with it being sold.

We have yet to see an A8 Break. The rear diff on the other hand is probably on borrowed time. The spider gears tend to grenade around 1000rwhp.

We do offer a ZR1 diff upgrade that prevents this from happening:

When you do a dig please let us know what kind of stall the converter has and what your opinion is on how well the converter couples at higher rpm's and/or what kind of slippage it has.

Eddie,

If you upgrade the Z's diff with the stronger ZR1 gear set, do you lose e-diff functionality?

Nope! It maintains full functionality of the e-diff.
