Default God I hate my local Chevy dealer

I have been in the market for a new or used 2016-up Z06 and very aware of the discounts currently offered from Forum dealers. I would buy one from a vender if I sold my current C7 which is currently up for sale privately. All I want is a 2lz, PDR stage 3 area or close, 7sp or auto and maybe sport seats. I am open to all colors other than white.

I have a trade which here in AZ gives me a sales tax credit for the value of my trade. Went to Van's over the weekend and Mr. Corvette met me as I got out of my C7. Told him what I wanted and we walked the lot but nothing. I asked how they were dealing on new Z06's, he said, "I will give you the best deal around." Why did I know that was coming. Did not have a car that I wanted so he said he would check around and after a few hours came back with a used 2016 3600 miles, 6sp 2lz and asking 86k which was a new car price for a used car. I then texted him back that I was interested in a new 2017 auto with just the 2lz and PDR and what was the value of my trade(2105/3LZ/CF roof and package, Performance Data Recorder, navigation, on star, ZF1 Appearance package, multi-mode performance exhaust Xpel Extreme clear paint protection).

He then sent me hack some car which must have been the most expensive 2LZ car on the lot at 97k and a 2k discount and 41k for my trade. I noticed it had been on the lot for 167 days, almost 6 months. He then texts back, "can you come down right now to buy the car." I didn't respond so he called me. I told him the trade value was too low and I don't want a 97k 2LZ car that has sat on the lot for 6 months. What I wanted was a 2LZ car around 86k with a discount of between 10-15%. He then raises his voice so everybody in the are can year and yells, "So you want 50k for your car and my car for 86k and 12% off." I said yes if he could of that deal I would buy the car. He hung up and don't expect to hear from him again.

I guess just my venting as I never get this from the Porsche or Mercedes dealers a couple of blocks away. I have bought a 07 C6Z from Les Stanford about 10 years ago and it was a breeze. My guess is I will end up selling my car and buying one from a forum vender and having it shipped.

Call Mike Furman, they do trade-ins and ship, much less stress.

I live in N. Scottsdale and I've bought several cars from Van Chevrolet and have had very good experiences there. Even with a rattle in my car, which the warranty usually expires after 1yr, they extended it. Always treat me well for service etc. Overall no complaints...

Maybe be pro-active and do a search on-line...then bring them the spec sheet and prices of those cars...so they can try to match it. If they can't, then move on. Buying local is not always possible, but I prefer it IF I can.

Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for.

I traded that 07C6Z for an 08C6Z from them and they were very good, this guy was not.

That is the way I will go. From everything I have read every customer of his has been very happy with their purchase.

Sounds like my local Chevy Dealer. I've tried to buy my last 2 Z'z (09, 16) from them but same kind of response. Nothing for my trade and list for theirs. In October of 2016 I bought a new (16) LBR, 2LZ, A8, from a forum dealer for $71,400! I also had $3K in GM points that were sitting idle for 3 years so my cost was 68,400. I had to buy the car. They gave me a reasonable trade and I did get the tax savings. Happened to be the same dealer I bought my 09 Z from. It was a great deal also. However, they are not a large dealer and the forum salesman is no longer there so not sure how the deal now.

While quite a distance to ship, you might want to call Paul Dragich as Paul Masse in East Providence, RI. They are one of the nation's largest Corvette dealers and provide the service and experience you're used to at Porsche and Mercedes.

You can't go wrong with Mike Furman @Criswell. He's the best around. There's a reason he sells the most corvettes every year forever lol. And the big thing to remember is if something DOES go wrong? Who do you want making those calls to GM on your behalf? He has put me in direct contact with important people and will be there forever. That's why you never hear a bad word about him. Because he doesn't forget you when you drive off in your car. Friend for life. He even does favors, huge favors for guys who didn't buy their cars from him.. who else does that?

I ordered from the factory and bought a c6 z06 from Dennis. Great transaction.

The only reason I didn't buy the 2017 from him was he was apparently in the hospital when I tried to contact him last November. When he recovered he did contact me but by that time I had ordered one from Criswell in Gathersburg Md.

I would highly recommend either dealer as both transactions were as painless as possible with the best price I could find anywhere.

Lots of people have claimed to be the the largest Corvette dealer.

I've mostly dealt with Les Stanford, near Detroit. They have lots of Corvettes on the lot for perusal, and they also quoted me a really attractive price over the phone on the Z, the best (or equivalent) that I had found from inquiries all over the nation. And that ended up being the price I paid when I showed up to buy. No jacking around.

Dennis Tap (post #8 in this thread) was the salesman I dealt with most recently, and he was highly knowledgeable about Corvettes. He also offered me tips on selling my aftermarket-supercharged C5 privately, and that turned out to work really well.

I'm pretty much done with dealers who require you to show up in person for pricing. In 40+ years of car buying, that hasn't worked out even one time.

I can tell you that Jessy at MacMulkin will do 11% and no dealer fee. Also you can do a courtesy delivery by your house for $500. I'm putting in an order this week.

Update, found a car at Penske Scottsdale Ferrari, 2015 C7Z06 auto with 10k miles 3LZ and Z07 package, complete body Xpel, brand new set of Cup tires and they let me keep the carbon roof from my trade. I called my sales guy at the Porsche dealership which is also part of Penske who I have bought about a dozen Porsche's from and my current AMG GT-S and he got m a great deal with little to no hassle. I went to all three local GM dealers earlier in the day and nobody had a new car that I wanted or would deal on them. Most of the sales people did not know much about the Z06 or then what they read on the Window Sticker. I think I got max for my trade which was almost 6k more than the best price offered (41) by the dealers and Vroom.

Like you, I too have an AMG GTS in addition to the Z06 (M7). It's some car isn't it? I love them both, as each is distinct enough to be a completely different ride. Use both all the time -- while a CTS-V is my daily driver, I drive the AMG and Z06 in all kinds of weather and put tons of miles on them. Just completed a 1600 mile trip in the GTS and look forward to an upcoming long distance trip with the Z06. Would be curious about your thoughts on the AMG. Thanks. Frank
