NEW 2017 for sale but with 600 miles
I found a 2017 optioned exactly how I want. White M7 with Z07 and visible CF ground effects, hood weave, and roof. The only problem is that the listing says it has 598 miles on it.
I e-mailed them and they responded with "To answer your question, yes that is the correct mileage. This vehicle was our owners demo as well as brought to at least one Corvette car show."
Owner's demo? Are they showing how to operate all of the electronics on a C7 using this car? Don't see why it would have those miles if that was the case. Should I be wary buying the car with that many miles? Who knows how hard they drove it before it's broken in.
They've only dropped it from $110k to $103k. I was hoping to work out a deal on it but the miles scare me a little. On the other hand, it's still "new" and I'd have the full warranty.

Owner's demo usually means the owner of the dealership used it as his personal car. While technically it can be sold as new it is really a used car. They would need to come down a lot more on price and adjust the warranty before I would consider it.

nothing new - dealerships buy cars as demos for themselves/others all the time and the car is sold as NEW with more miles than the one you ask about. you need to be a VERY SMART negotiator to ensure you price correctly if you are interested in buying

Perhaps owners demo meant he used it until it scared him silly. It's a used car with the dealers get out of jail free card of "never titled" so can sell as new.

warranty becomes effective the day the car is sold to the public - while under the dealership it is NOT titled, etc by the state as still under the MSO

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, at the right price. They would have to come down a lot more than $7K for me to even begin to consider it.

I had the same situation with mine. The dealer paid for it in our final price. You may have received the same line that I did. "He liked it so much that we had to force him to put it on the floor". It now has used miles on it so they should come down in price or other incentives if they are interested in getting it off the lot.

This is the car in question if anyone is nearby South Marlton, NJ and can check it out for me. Like others say, I'd definitely get it if they priced it right for being used but new.

Many dealership owners use a car as a personal demo car. Once the car gets above a certain number of miles (don't know how many) it has to be sold as used. The important thing to check is the In Service Date for the car. The owner may have used the car for several months and and as soon as it is used that way it has to be put in service which means warranty coverage starts that day not the day the car is sold. You can have a one year old demo that is still on the MSO (running dealer plates, never titled) and 1/3 of the warranty has expired.

In 2010 I purchased a 2009 Silverado from dealer demo with 8400 miles on it. $48k truck for $36k. Came with 3 year 36k warranty. 3 years started the day I bought it and went to 44,400 miles. My experience.

lol I'd love for them to give me 25% off... wouldn't even care if the 598 miles are taken out of the warranty.

"Yes the 500 mile service was completed and it was all local driving. What else can I do to help?"
I guess the warranty has started already then. They said they can take off a whole extra $1k off. I'll be passing. We're too far apart on price for it having been driven 600 miles.

When you buy a demonstration car, it means that potential customers have been able to wipe out the car or that the dealer used it for marketing purposes at shows, moved with. But in any case, such a car can not be sold as new, it is the law in France and if it is not in your home, in the USA, it astonishes me a lot ! A demonstration car is between -15% and -20% in France. Waaranty must begin since the deal day with 600 miles as a new car. It's your turn.
