They fade and are susceptible to warp more than they should imo. I live near a lot of back country roads where I'm able to push the car without risking lives (besides mine of course) and have hit the fading point a bit earlier than I hoped. My other vette, a C6 gen, has modded pads and rotors, seems to have a higher fade point, given the pads are street, not track.

On my 17 GS and 18 Z06, I thought it was brake fade, and they felt warped. After getting some driving coaching, I don't think the pads or rotors are an issue. Consider changing the way you use the brakes.
Anyway, back on topic. I can't stop thinking about driving mine.

Like the OP stated in his post....
"This car truly is remarkable, those of us lucky enough to have one should recognize that fact more often."

I love my '17 drop top as Dave does his. My '16 coup was fun but I had to go back to a convertible.

Nice to see a positive thread on this great car. There is a tendency to post negativity on any car Forum. These are fantastic cars to drive with plenty of power. After enduring the 70's and 80's I never thought we would see the day that we could buy cars with 650 or more horsepower. These are the good old days Had mine for over a year and 7,000 miles and love the car.

And if there is a wing delete, I will sacrifice both the '17 Z and the '17 GMC Denali crew cab to buy one once the initial "gotta have it price be damned" bunch buys one. In a convertible of course .......... The Harley's are safe.
