A8 vs M7 2015 VS 2017
My new to me 2017 WGG A8 Z came yesterday.
She is super nice. Forum Member Onfire kept in it new condition
and is a great man to deal with.
I received it with 1593 miles.
Insurance on the 2017 really shocked me less than my 2015 Z and only 465 a year.
Full coverage 1000. deductible.
The 2017 is very nice it has better paint than my 2015 came with.
Panel fit and interior finish is better as well. This 2017 has much better perceived quality. More refined. GM made many nice little changes over 2 years.
Actually it's the finest Corvette I have been in. Move over Lambo
The Z06 is improved.
Really it is nice a car.
Have to get the tall lid for my 2015.
These are two different cars. One stock A8 and one M7 with 740hp.
Gt seats sit more comfy than the Comp seat but comps hold you better.
After the first time in an A8 and spending a day driving the A8 .
Some observations
It is no wonder the A8 is faster in the 60ft and thus the 1/4 mile the lower gearing is very apparent.
Looking at a 1/4 mile time slip you will see as an example 100 mph in the first 1/8 mile
but maybe only gain 25mph in the last 1/8 mile.
It is because of the push of the A8's overall much lower gears gaining much superior traction.
The M7 car with the tall first gear cannot compete you apply too much power and it spins and it is also a lot of TQ on the clutch if the tire holds from a dead stop. Rolling at 50 is another story.
No wonder it's say (example) A8 1.6 60ft vs M7 2.0 60ft race is over at that point
Going through the same test area. The A8 is quicker down low but the M7 is feeling stronger on the higher speeds on the roll up through 140 mph. Only because of the extra 90 or so hp.
The M7 is not going to take the A8 in the 1/4.
The M7 is a lousy 1/4 mile car but
both are fast cars in their own way.
I'm seeing either the TKO or BMS filter and some different wheels but that is about all the 2017 car needs.
The 2017 is more sex appeal no doubt the WGG is awesome.
The 2015 is more racy look with the silver two tone with carbon flash.
Louder sounds with the headers.
Loving having both cars.

The car you sold me is a very fine example. Can't find a mark on it. The paint needs nothing very good for a C7. The overall car gets a 10.
Really reminds me of a luxury car. I'm putting in a 1 inch layer of car insulation in the rear under the carpet. It really surprised me it knocks considerable road noise down. but this car already is pretty quiet.

As a previous gen owner of an auto I admit, it seemed faster then its manual counter parts, however, the fun factor spiked when I went m7 on my 2017 z06, really just a great time.
