Hey guys i was trying to look what is the whp limit you can make and still be safe on a stock lt4 short block

I'd guess they are "fairly" safe at 800-900 rwhp as long as you don't detonate it. I would think the rods are still the weak link as they are still not forged steel. I've seen LT1s break rods in the middle at 850 rwhp here locally. The LT4 rods are supposedly a little stronger but....I doubt it, they are still the same powdermetal material.

Now if you rattle one, all bets are off. I haven't personally seen or heard of many LT4 failures here locally, other then 1, and it was a freak thing with the piston skirts hitting the oil squirters and breaking the skirts off.

I think most people will kill them due to leaning them out or detonating them because of the **** fuel system.
