The ten speed Auto and the gearing is the big factor for traction. An even lower 1st and fill the 5-6 lag. Along with a little more power with no heating issues.
Should make the car the unbeatable. Nice answer to Ford's more pricey GT. If they make a manual IMO they need to ditch the old gear ratio's.

If this has already been discussed, apologies. But it seems clear that there will be 3 levels of "performance" for the ZR1, most easily spotted by (1) no rear wing, (2) the short rear wing, and (3) the big rear wing. I can't see them having different levels of HP, however.
And, after taking a step back, this whole ZR1 seems like kind of a "do over" for the C7Z: where they got the cooling right, so they don't have to retard throttle, and probably can also cool the new trannies, even while they are being beaten on at the track. I'm sure the car retains the LT4, but has a bigger blower. Seems like "Keeks" and Jason predicted this car. This from a post of mine in Dec. of 2013 (where I quoted some previous posts):
From a September 2012 thread titled "Cool Stingray Logo on Fenders:"
Post #241 has a summary of all the intel Keeks had provided about the upcoming C7, gathered from various threads. The vast majority of all those individual details turned out to be exactly correct. One of them was that the 2015 Z06 would be a supercharged LT4 with 586 hp (not 583, as was elsewhere misquoted). I'll bet that's spot on.
Now for the really cool tease: The last intel / prediction in that summary: "The true hotrod for the C7 will be in 2016." (May be off a word or two, but I'm typing this minutes after reading it.)
Which brings me to something I've posted before. On 7-15-2011 Jason posted this in the ZR1 forum: "If I was a betting man, I would put money on a 700 hp ZR1 or equivalent in 2015-2016. I'm just speculating though."
Again, I'll bet he wasn't "speculating." And I'll bet the "true hotrod for the C7" will be in 2016, and will be a ZR1-type model, and will have 700-ish hp.
Well, turned out the Z06 had 650 hp, not 586. But this upcoming ZR1 seems to be a "true hotrod" version of the Z07. The fact that it's 2018 instead of "2015-2016" doesn't bother me.
Whatever the car is, I can't imagine we won't see it in January.
