Default Z06 M7 Clutch type?

What type of clutch is used in the M7 Z06?
Single/dual disc disc?
Different from Stingray/Grand Sport?

Thanks

Twin
No
It's the same across the board like c6 base, GS and Z06. Will be interesting to see if it's in the c7zr1 too.

I have a 2005 C6 with wide body kit, Vortech supercharger, cam, AT headers, stainless x-pipe, Billy Boat exhaust for 615 HP at the wheels. My much said to put on a Z06 clutch instead of what I had. Are you telling me the bass Grand Sport and ZO6 clutches are all the same for my 2005?

No, they are talking about the C7 Corvette, not the C6. Your base C6 does not have the dual clutch that came in the C6 Z06.

You are absolutely correct, a misstep on my part. Meant ZR1, typed Z06, thanks for catching that and correcting me.

No worries. Sounds like he's looking for a beefier clutch for a modded base C6. I know Katech had a conversion kit to put the twin disc C6 ZR clutch in the C6 Z06, but I don't know if that would work on a base C6. Something he might want to check out with Katech, though.

Might be easier/less $$ for him to just put an aftermarket twin disc in.

Twin disk is stock in C7 Base and Z06. If anyone needs an upgrade i have a Mcleod RXT clutch and flywheel package on the shelf in stock i can give someone a great deal on. Just parts or with install too.

According to GM parts Expert Gene Culley, who is very knowledgeable, C7 Z06's come with a single disc clutch. However, the Z06 clutch disc and pressure plate has a different part number than the LT1 (stingray /Gand Sport) clutch. I would assume higher clamping rate.

Thanks PRE-Z06 for additional info as stated in next post.

Plate load is the same from experience of testing them on the bench when I worked for Monster clutches, they offer other discs with higher coefficient of frictions to allow more holding power in other models that use the pressure plate for OE pedal though a lighter billet flywheel instead of the heavy OE dual mass unit.
