Default Finally got a 1:58 at VIR

Yesterday I managed to break in to the 1:58's at VIR with a 1:58.86 on some Pirelli scrubs. What's crazy is that it really wasn't meant to be a flyer and wasn't a very good lap. Looking at the data compared to my 1:59.0 run last month, I lost 1.5s by lifting early in the climbing esses because there was a slower car ahead. I lost another second lifting early at the end of the back straight. I've got a couple more days here so maybe I can get down in to the 57's.

Damn I love this car!

Wow. Great job. Impressive. Goes to show once again you never know when you're on a flyer until after you're done and look at your times. Congrats!

Did you use the same DSC calibration as last time or changed a bit? Great driving

Thanks everyone. I used the same settings as the last time and in fact I'm not even running the changes that Mike suggested the last time I was here. I've been so darn happy with the car that I'm afraid to change anything. At this point it's all driver skill (or lack thereof).

I might put Mike's last set of changes and fresh scrubs on the car for the next two days to see what I can do. We're playing on Grand Course today. So far my best is a 2:47.7 which is about 5 seconds ahead of me last year but still 3 seconds off the LL time.

I'm loading up to go home. I managed a slightly better 1:58.7 yesterday but knew if I could get a clean lap a 1:57 was in the cards. This last session we had a black flag all and I was first to line up in the hot pit. Tires were already warm so I figured this might be it. I managed to really screw up the first 1/3 of the lap but still managed a 1:57.50. Video to come later.

Nice Lucky to get that chance after the black flag. I've done similar only to catch a late car leaving the pits and its all over. For comparisons what were GM's times at VIR with Z06 a few years back testing, forgive me as I have forgot? I bet your close or faster.
