Just installed it on my ‘17 Z07. Air box is a lot bigger then stock and looks as though it will flow much better. I removed my BMS filter and although I’m fairly certain it will fit in the new Performance air box, I utilized the dry filter that came with the kit

Does the MAF sensor part have the screen like the OEM one?

Nice comparison. How did it run with the new airbox?

The dog sled team made it to Canada finally with my Performance airbox .I have taken many air flow courses through Superflow and I am going to say that there has been some very serious development work on this piece concerning critical radius’s and increases in airbox volume. From my standpoint it is night and day in airflow from the standard box and very pleased with it.I am not going to install it right away as it is going on my Superflow computerized flow bench for my personal evaluation compared to the stock one as there has been some serious work done on this in my mind.

There is no screen like the stock unit.
After reading your question I realized I have not driven the car since install, I’m currently doing other mods. I will give my impression once I get it out. I will also follow up with a installed photo before I explain the problem I had with the install. It involves a clearance issue with the coolant line, that clamp that comes with the kit and the plastic extractor on the inside of the hood.

I spoke to the dealer service manager this morning and he has no problem with me installing the cai myself and I will have full warranty on my 2019 Base car.He stated if the install was screwed up then we have a problem!

Great info.
How does the filter flow compared to the stock one?
How does this airbox compare to Haltech and AFE?
Thanks for sharing your findings.

It will be several days before I get a chance to get this on the Superflow Bench but will post my findings when I can.

Question for those who have one- is the new filter the same size as the original regular filter or is the new filter the same size just different material? Thank you.

Wow, did not expect such a massive difference in airbox & filter volume vs stock.

I wonder if trimming those arms off the front of the stock airbox would make any difference?*

Looks like this airbox produces decent gains on the ZR1 via 3rd party testing results.

*Edit* I just removed the 'Y' piece from the OEM airbox.

So the GM performance airbox does not have the wire screen mesh upstream of the MAF like the OEM does.

Not sure what purpose that serves...

If going to see how she performs at VIR next weekend, then maybe I'll remove the mesh screen.

Installed mine last night. Great looking setup, definitely a bit bigger and looks like it would flow more air than the OEM unit. I didn't rip on it much so can't tell you about any gains. Going to lower it and install the Corsa cat-back next week.

Just from looking at the stock box and somewhat understanding airflow I suspect removing the braces would be a substantial improvement in airflow .

Happy with mine! Dealer installed before taking delivery. I listed the brand new stock one in the sales forum if anyone is interested.

I'd be interested to see if the BMS filter works in the new air box? If the filter base in the GM intake is the same as stock then I would think that would be a gain?

The stock filter is like yellow. The gm performance intake has clearly a red one. Probably k&n.
