Curious if any of the aftermarket companies that would produce a worth while ZR1 style aero kit actually performs wind tunnel testing or other types? The frontal area of the ZR1 has a significant increase in flat surfaces over our standard Z's. The side cooling grills look similar to those used in the current Z's grill. Must be as we were all told 3 years ago that grill style works well. Most likely the front splitter has a 3rd or more increase in surface simply from the width alone. Now that I finally got time to look at this beast and drool. There's some major front down force going on there most likely to compensate for the big wing alone.
Don't know if I would really want the huge surface area splitter needed on my track and street car if going with a wing yet. Hell we've had to repair my current splitter 3 times in 3 years already!
Looking forward to this coming summer and the ZR1 dominance!

Low wing possibly?
Makes me wonder if the low wing might be a better option for the stock C7 Z06.
From http://www.chevrolet.com/upcoming-ve.../corvette-zr1: the low wing "20 percent less drag than the available adjustable high wing, yet still helping create more downforce than the standard Z06."
Would be interesting to see what the front splitter that goes with the low wing looks like. Will wait to see what info come out - likely next year.
Until then - I will just keep learning how to drive the car I already have (Z06). Still more car than driver at the moment.

Mounting Details?
Agreed.
Took a quick look on the forum - but haven't wasn't able to find any mounting details for the low wing. Has there been any other information on this outside of it not being mounted to the frame?

Agree! Although has anyone confirmed GM's claim of the low wing is against the stage 3 or the standard Z06? That would make big difference. The drag our stage 3 wall creates must be enormous but it does look cool! Those pedestal wings remind me so much of the kids Cruze down the street with his new 1-800 wings and things purchase.

Can the ZR1 be purchased without the Ricer park bench on the back of it? I'm sure that is the sheet over at the "Ring" but seriously that thing will be laughed at by the general public on the street.
