Redls6 - like your reasoning. The thought of doing this whole swap took me back to when the C5Z came out and all the posers with the 99-00 hardtops ran out to buy the red coil covers and brake ducts so they could "look" the part. Happens everytime. I guess the guys that really do track their cars and currently do have issues then this upgrade will work for them.

I still see some of those C5's today, every now and then. My C5Z was a fantastic track car - I ran over 30,000 track miles on it with nothing more than a standalone Setrab oil cooler and a brake cooling kit, (plus seats, harnesses, tires and pads, the usual stuff). It rarely overheated but I did occasionally get the tranny overtemp warning ... it never threw codes or pulled power.

The C7Z has been a battle and the costs to just get it to run a few laps without getting hot run into the thousands of dollars. Still, it's the most fun Vette I've owned so far. In all honesty, the ZR1 bumper upgrade may be too costly, but it may inspire other solutions which do not include the hood. The LG and Gspeed solutions are both great kits..... hats off to those guys for the engineering work they did.

I wouldn't swap for appearance, but if you can get the right hardware behind the right openings, it'd cool a lot better.

That's a big if, but I 'd take it if it works!

Just install a Procharger F1A and laugh when you destroy ZR1's that pull up next to you. Or just don't care and enjoy the car you can afford.

With an F1A you might catch up to the ZR1 on the top end eventually, but not for a long time. It's got 715lbft of torque, and last I looked, procharger cars struggle to make any real torque down low.

Once a centrifugal comes up on the boost it's OK, but they're kinda boring until then unless the motor makes a lot of torque NA.

I think you guys may change your minds when the GM parts will be sky high!
I not seeing how the 3000.00 or more Carbon hood bonnet will ever work since the engine is different.

IMHO Friends don't friends attach ZR1 front end parts or ZR1 wings to their Z06's! The price will be high and the poser looks will get no respect!

C5Z was a fantastic track car. I bought my 02' new and put 80,000 miles on it including several HPDE at Big Willow and Buttonwillow. When I sold it after 7 years of ownership my biggest repair was a broken valve spring.

I feel like the Z06's have become progressively less robust on each new iteration.

I for one am looking forward to following this mod, seeing how the parts fit and if the ZR1 heat management system can be made to work on the Z06.

Looking forward to pics and watching the process!

Ya the poser look?? Really I could car less what people think of my upgrades!! I tracked my 98 C5 so I added Z06 rear brake coolers for performance gains. Corvette owners like you asked the same poser questions?? It will never change. So just telling you like it is! When I upgrade to a ZR1 front bumper with added intercoolers (like GM should have done) I will not be looking for any respect from garage queen owners. Friends understand friends tracking the Z06 like it should be driven.

Then why are you driving a C7Z instead of a C5 or C6, you poser?

I might do a front bumper replica just because I like the way it looks. Same reason as I like the "rear bumper" on Z0Sick's avatar.

I couldn't care less whether that rear bumper made her faster, or less susceptible to overheating!

Part numbers are available, but there is no pricing. I've been compiling part numbers for ZR1 stuff over the last couple weeks so when it's available I can share the info.

To my eyes the ZR1 bumper has different lines at the top compared to the Z06 and would not be a like-for-like swap as the lines would not match up.

I'm really disappointed that GM didn't update the 2019 Z06 with similar additional cooling radiators and air vents for the LT4. Z06 owners aren't trying to be ZR1 posers, rather they desire a fix to a well-known issue. GM went cheap during the Z06 introduction using the same front fascia opening dimensions used on the LT1 and that proved to be incorrect. Even if they didn't want to duplicate the ZR1 front fascia, why not extend the mouth opening to be closer to the C7R to allow for the auxiliary coolers to be added? From a pure looks perspective, I still like the Z06 front fascia better.

I agree that aftermarket would be the better option.

BTW folks, stock Z06 hood could be used with ZR1 fenders and front bumper!
