Default Went to PBIR last nite and ran 9.81

Was able to go the the track last night and ran a personal best of 9.81 at 137.71. It was my first time back out the track with the four spider gear set-up. The last time out i broke the spider gears in the diff on the first pass. I also switched to a taller tire for my 18 inch wheels went from a 26" Hoosier to the 28" Mickey. The car has trapped 142 mph with the hosiers at 10.0's with high 1.5's . The taller tire caused the car to shift early and I was not able to adjust the shift rpm or mph due to a laptop issue. I believe this hurt the mph in the 1/8 and 1/4. The DA was okay for South Florida around 1000+

Big thanks to Willie at Lujan Motorposrts in Miami for putting the car together for me and Jeremy-Fasterproms for the Tune.

Mods are: E60 mix, 18% lower, fasterproms upper, faster proms expansion tank, texas speed 2" headers with x-pipe, ported blower, ported tb, halltech intake, alkycontrol dual nozzle meth kit. 18" forgeline rear wheels and Stock size forgeline 19" for the front. Car still has the stock heads and cam.

I will post the video shortly.

Awesome combo! Looks like you really have that one dialed in besides the tire height change.

I saw the same thing once on my C5Z.... I went to 28"s for better traction and the car just would NOT mph (137).... I went back to 26"s on the rear and skinnies on the front, the car gained 10 mph....(147). NO other changes, even the same gas in the tank.

The tight ratio C5Z trans did NOT like the taller tires in 4th gear...just not enough rpms for a centrifugal blower.

For you to be running 142 mph with bolt ons is outstanding...
I truly feel that the 18%, Meth/E50/Header combo is the BEST combo for a C7Z A8.....

Hell we have head/cam cars here that won't trap 142....LOL..

Good job on the car, keep us posted on the progress/track updates.

Thank You.

On the Hoosier set-up, with Jeremy's help we really had the shift rpm's on point. The 4 - 5 shift on the modded cars has the most affect imho.

Hell yeah, these cars die after that 4-5 shift. I can only imagine how much worse it is on 28s.

Honestly, I’d go back to the 335/18 Hoosiers. They hook, they are light, and they are only 26.5” tall....and they won’t rub your fender liners.

Jeremy is definitely one of the top five tuners on the LT stuff with the A8. His stuff shifts better then just about anyone else’s, without the flaring, bogging BS. If he was closer to me, I’d use him for sure for tuning.

Thats a solid 60ft.

I think Jeremy is higher then top 5. But I am bias since I have one of his built cars.

I am debating the 18% lower myself. Do you have the dyno sheet?

What was your gear ratio?

I agree, but i am also bias. lol

I have to search for the Dyno sheet but it has made 710 to 720 rwhp on a dyno jet with close to 790 torque. When we added the upper to the 18% we gained descent power under the curve but only a little bit of peak hp. It picked up way more torque if i remember correctly, the blower is out of steam when spun that hard.

My car made 660 hp and 703 tq on Jeremy's dyno. I ran a 10.2 at 130 two weeks ago at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with also a 1.41 60ft. My top speed wasn't so great. Tje DA was 2000.

Damn something was up with that...

I bet the DA was much worse the +2000 in Vegas....

130 mph is stock C7Z mph... My guess is the DA was MUCH worse then you thought and probably killing you. LVM has never been a fast track.

It was my best run. I had a 1.41 60ft, 130 trap, but ran a 10.26.
