We have 3 C7 Z06's in shop now doing heads and cam. I will be glad if owners do not mind me posting their results when they are completed

I don't understand why nobody has really posted in this thread unless they are embarrassed their H/C car isn't that much faster than a FBO car.

Not been a lot of visual proof of H/C cars posting good numbers at the track. I seen ton of shops posting pictures of installs but no videos of their cars posting killer numbers at the track where it counts

I think its a combination of things... one of which you touched on slightly..

Second, the cost of a head/cam install is so freakin high compared to LS stuff, I think most people just aren't doing them....(at least not in large numbers like we've always seen with the LS stuff).

I think a lot of people go the aftermarket cam only route because they A)Need the fuel lobe and B) Want the chop chop idle to impress at the cruise in.

I still thought we would have seen some dyno queen numbers up here but...I guess not. Down here in Houston, cammed C7Zs are everywhere, and a lot of head/cam cars too, but I think the reality is, most of the younger crowd these days that are ripping into these things for serious mods, are not hanging out of forums anymore, and most of the older gents that do post on forums, aren't likely to rip the engine out of their brand new $80k car for a cam swap.

Me personally, I can not see the point of doing a cam install WITHOUT doing the heads. Its basically the same labor, and the heads have to come apart for springs anyway....Whats another $1500 to have them CNC ported at that point?

But when Formato has bolt on cars going 9.70s, why mess with going into the engine at all? (that's my route)

I agree, yet I am very close to pulling the trigger on a head and cam package for my car lol. If the A8 was not such a pain to tune at high torque levels I would hit it with a 150 shot and call it a day. If I do I will post the dyno and time slip.
