Default Certainly never thought I'd be posting here.

Moving from posting in C6 (2008 Vette ) to here (2016 Z06).
Got a serious deal on a 30K mile loaded A8. This thing is so far beyond the C6 that I can't believe it!

I notice all the snow shovels & your location-I bet you're chomping at the bit to get out there & drive the "beast". You probably already know to be extra careful in the cool/cold wx. The HP/Torque will easily overcome the grip. Good for you on this upgrade!!

Congrats. That's a helluva nice upgrade. I went from a '98 C5 to a '14 Stingray to a '17 Z06. The C5 to C7 was obviously an insane difference, but the Stingray to Z06 is still pretty damn impressive too.

Chicago 'burbs. Pretty easy winter so far but it's actually supposed to snow tomorrow. It was almost 40F & damp when I test drove it.
I got it from a used high end place. The sales kid said to be cool - the boss is watching this test drive. I assured him I just wanted to make sure there were no obvious problems. (Had already received a GMVIS) So at the first intersection I managed to start sliding!
I was not into the gas. So I had my learning occur in turn #1
I did the deal on Thurs and got a chance to drive a bit but it is now in hibernation. Yes, this will be one long winter.

The surprises were the dramatic changes in steering & brakes.
And I haven't even had it in sport mode yet!

Have fun and be careful, it will bite you! I did an unintentional donut leaving the dealership on a cool 38F night! I signed up for the Ron Fellows course the next week. My wife and I both took the course and it was well worth the money and a lot of fun.

Since you won't be driving much, take the time to thoroughly read the OM, taking time to highlite (post-its) the good stuff. Especially read the explanation on PTM modes, they can do wonders for your pleasure if you drive it like you stole it. Tadge also has a great explanation of PTM in his "Ask Tadge" section. Again, Welcome to the club!

Thanks Madrob! Had read most of the manual prior to purchase. Just came across the part that says I can have loud exhaust in any mode. I knew I heard that somewhere on the Forum and was glad to see it

Congrats Carvin. I too feel your pain of living in this shithole state (and not just due to the weather).

Welcome to the C7’s! Congratulations. With 30k on the clock it definitely sounds like the previous owner enjoyed the Z too! Merry Christmas.

Congratulations! Enjoy the car. I went from an 08Z to a 16Z. Both great cars.
