Default 18" Road Race wheels?

Hello everyone... first post - thought I'd start off in style.

2016 Z06 - looking for 18" road race wheels - absolutely not interested in a 10k set of 3-4 times a year set of track wheels.

Does anyone run / know for sure if I can run 18" TSW's - maybe 18x10.5's Nurburgring's on all 4 corners?

Thanks!

You will need a very low offset in the rear to work with the wide fenders.

Signature Forged Monoblock are very reasonable and comes with knurling anti tire slip for sltickier tires.

I have 3 sets ready to ship with proper sizing 18x11 18x12.5 for 315/345 slicks.

Sold about 100 track sets in the last year for Vette world. Clear CCB fine. 19.5 lbs front and 20.4 lbs rear.

I’m a fan of Signature wheels and have two sets. One set is 18’s on all 4 corners.

The CCW wheels that everybody used on the C6Z will work on the C7Z. If you have the ceramic rotors you will need a small spacer that fits inside the recessed portion of the ceramic rotor hat since the CCW hub diameter is a few thousandths larger than the diameter of the recessed portion of the hat. CCW will make you a spacer and sell extended length lug nuts so you don't have to change the wheel studs. 18x11 and 18x13, 18x11 and 18x12 sets will fit. As on the C6Z the 18x13 will rest on the rear of the rear upper control arms when the car is off the ground so you can't torque the lug nuts until there is some weight on the suspension to depress the wheel up into the body. I have used a block of wood under the lca, lowered the car onto the block, tightened the nuts, raised the car a little to get the wood out and then lowered the car. Did the same on both my C6Z and C7Z. 18x12 won't touch the UCA. Check the Autocrossing and Roadracing Classified and C6 Parts for Sale forums for used CCWs. They were the hot setup on the C6 and were very popular so there may be a number of used sets for sale. They are also rugged wheels and can take some damage and survive.

Give me a call we have actual load rated and tested wheels for track usage. We use Forgelines however some good options we dont carry are CCW and Finspeed.

Thanks everyone... Still doing my research...

I'd be in the market for a set of used ones.... I'm also interested in LG's wheels. I just can't / don't want to justify $4k for wheels....

I'm in the market as well. Don't want to reinvent the wheel (pun?) May be changing to steel rotors setup going from CCBs (they killing me w $$) Is there one wheel/slick setup that works best on either? Am I giving up anything by doing this? Speed-o calibration doesn't bother me w differing tires sizes, but PTM, DSC, TC, does? Thoughts from you Gurus out there? Thanks

I used the forerunners of the LG Wheels (the World Challenge Wheels) on my C6Z. They are cast wheels but well made, light and durable. The only thing is you can't get them in 18 inch sizes. New it is going to be tough to find a good set of 4 track wheels for less than $3800 shipped to you. Another low cost cast wheel that is good (at least the 18x12s I bought to run smaller tire widths seem to be great) are the OZ ALLEGGERITA HLT 5F, 18x10.0 Front wheel for the C6Z which has a 40 mm offset Vs the stock C7 43 mm offset so it would stick out 3 mm more. Part Number is W0183700353. In the rear you could then go with the OZ ALLEGGERITA HLT 5F, 18x12.0 wheel for the C6Z which has an offset of 57 mm Vs the stock 59 mm. Part Number is W0183900453. I purchased my rear 18x12 wheels at Tire Rack for less than $1K shipped to the house. I had to actually call Tire Rack and talk to their wheel person to get the info for ordering as the wheels do not show up on their configurator.

oh haaay, I had the same question, other forum! I've been wanting to go 18 due to the larger tire selection I'm reading, but I'm worried about the PTM/DSC/TC effect.. what size tires for 18" are viable? does it affect the PTM and nanny stuff?

As long as you are not changing the overall rolling diameter drastically than stock. Stay within 6% difrrent front and read and you are good.

thank you sirs! what are some readily available tires sizes within that 6% threshold? sorry if the questions are lame (i have a TON).. i know most of yall know every available brand, model and their sizes almost like the back of your hand!

for instance if i ran front 18x10 and rear 18x12 wheels... based on my simpleton research.. would say Toyo Proxes R888R in 315/30ZR18 front and 335/30ZR18 work?

no rubbing?
no PTM effect?
Is the Proxes a solid choice?
are they easy to get? cheaper than brand new (scrubs?)?
how many sessions can I expect?

Maybe Nitto NT01s?

sorry not ready for Hoosiers which I read is probably the sweet spot for sizes and scrubs?
