Default Bent Wheels

In the past I saw others who had bent wheels and wondered how that could happen... Well is happened to me. Just picked up my car from the dealer and got on the highway and it shook violently. Not sure if it was the dealer or me but I did not hit any potholes. I have 2 bent wheels.

How many have had bent wheels and did GM replace it free or did you have you have to pay for wheels?

Lots of threads on this and none of us particularly pleased with GM's approach to handling it. There's an ask tadge as well.

With a great “Wow, that’s the first I’ve heard of it” response.

I would bet that the dealer bent your wheels if not already bent prior to bringing it there. Check your mileage.

Thank you,,, 5,000 miles on the car and they have had the car a few times now trying to replace one tire and it has been a nightmare with them scratching the wheel and breaking the tire sensor. Just started using Valet Mode to track activity. This is my 5th trip in and I have to work with them to get it resolved. Dealer is checking with GM if they can do a "one time" exception and replace my wheels. I know this subject has been out there a while, I was going to put up a poll but screwed that up when posting. I was just curious how many would chime in.

I use North County Tire and Wheel near Quality Chevrolet in Escondido. They do lots of crazy size ricer and hip hop wheels and are absolutely experts at mounting our run flats on our wheels. Good luck with the dealer. If you get new wheels just take them down there rather than have the local dealer again try and mount the tires and ruin the new wheels.

Depending on dealer, GM is aware of these bent rims and will replace your rim.
This has happened to many of us.

In my case I hit a pothole while driving at about 70mph around a sweeping corner. If the car is in sport or track mode the shocks are in a stiffer position when you run over something an this creates more rigid impact. Kinda like squeezing a opened can of corn and squeezing the open end.

Mine is in the shop now trying to sort out my vibration. Comes on at 80mph and is progressively worse up through 160mph. Hoping a road force balance is all it needs.
