Default Mag Ride Software Update for Canadians

So... for us West coast Canadians....
No GM dealer around here has even heard of this upgrade.
I send them that PDF file, and when they check the Part number, it says "Not Available".

Only in Canada, eh !!!!!!

So, any suggestions on how we Canadians can get this upgrade done ?

I'm even willing to skip down across the border and get a US dealer to do it...
But could I do this ?

Does ANYONE have thoughts, or ?????

Doesn't surprise me. Thankfully I have a 17 Z06 and wont require the update. Have had mine into 3 dealers and all are very vague on GM info.

A friend here in Victoria just got the cooling upgrade and I think he said he got the mag ride upgrade also. Probably can't mention the dealer on here but it's the one that is part of a large western chain.

Don't see why you couldn't go down to Bellingham or Mt Vernon and get it done.

Get the DSC module. It's a lot better anyway.

Do you mind if I ask what the dealer charged to do the software update?

Zvert,

I know the "GM Instructions" say that the cost of the software is $350 (US),
and the dealer will be re-imbursed by GM for .3 hour.
Therefore the customer only pays the $350 (US).

Of course, in Canada, things don't always work out the way they do
in the US.

I paid $600 CDN plus taxes ($72).
If you consider that about $450 of that is for the Software ($350 US converted to CDN),
then the dealer charged me about $150 to do the work.

After posting I read the bulletin and opps I need this update too. You would think that after paying more than $125k they would do this no charge.
Guess that is why I am buying a new Ford pickup (first non GM purchased)
Also will probably get this done in the USA after I get an wheel alignment checkup by a shop that has all the GM tools.
Gotta love GM Canada.

I agree with going to the U.S. also. Way less hassle for those of us who live close to the border.

I don't post on here at all but here goes. Our local dealer here in Ontario still cannot pull up part numbers yet for this update for my 2016 Z06 non Z07 (available now). Another dealer in southern Ontario that I have dealt with before was not aware of this update. I have a case file started today with GM Canada asking why I am having issues with getting the update done, dealer having issues with part numbers, why there is a charge, etc, etc. At the very least GM announces something that is backward compatible for all mag ride cars, makes them handle better in all modes (read the US GM letter to US dealers dated 31 Jan 2018 in another forum post) and yet doesn't even offer the update free to those cars still under warranty. What about unsold cars on dealer lots, 2017 and 2018 new and they are out there? I wouldn't buy one unless the update had been done by the dealer. If the Canadian price is in fact $600 CDN I will probably as well seek the update at a US GM dealer for $350 US (someone out there had a good idea). I am scratching my head on this one.

No MRC update available for a stage II 16 ZO6 while a previous update for safety reasons was possible last year

Anybody know who's doing these upgrades in Alberta? I'm sure some of our "self proclaimed" corvette dealers are clueless about this upgrade as well.

Do all 2017's already have the update? Is there a way to check? I have a 2017 Z06.

No, in reading the other thread, it is available for 17’s as well in April. I have a 17 too.
