The MRC update is done to the ESC (electronic suspension controller) and not involved with any PCM programming. There are a bunch of processors on board a modern Corvette and have been there since the C5 came out. The engine control module controls the engine and receives/responds to signals from the other controllers. Tuners if they have any access at all can only get to certain tables in the PCM and all they can do is change the values in the tables.

I had my 2016 Z06/Z07 upgraded this weekend. After I let it sit overnight, I took it for a drive and the difference was wonderful. The ride was smoother, the bumps were less noticeable, the steering was better, my seat was softer, the sky was bluer and the girls were prettier.

OK, I may be exaggerating a little. Basically, the overall shock damping appeared to be a little softer. However, the real difference was that the sharp edges were gone from small abrupt bumps. Somehow, the upgrade seems to eliminate much of the high frequency content of bumps. Big bumps (waves in the road) still cause floating in Tour, but that was never an issue for me.

Overall, I am very glad I had this done.

Great! Do you happen to know if the car needs to be unused for 6 hours immediately after the update, or if it can be driven to home first and then parked overnight without compromizing the update benefits?

It can be driven home. The advice is to not do "spirited" driving for about 8-10 hours.

I had my 2015 Z06 done yesterday and the Mechanic told me it would be better not to drive the car for 12 hours after the upgrade as per instructions from GM, they didn't even move the car after the install, they let it sit in the bay overnight.
I picked car up today and drove 100 miles, feels like a different car, much improved.

I guess it depends on who you want to believe. But according to Corvette's Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter, it's fine to drive home.
Read this: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ibrations.html
The relevant paragraph is this:
What about the car needing to sit for 8 to 10 hours after the flash?
  • The car can be driven immediately after the flash. It does not have to sit at the dealership. The temperature compensation will not be normalized until the vehicle has sat for 8 to 10 hours. Where and when this happens is irrelevant. When the vehicle sits for 8 to 10 hours, the temperature compensation will then be normalized.

I'm getting the upgrade very soon, but now wondering if it's available, so searched a few threads but couldn't find the answer.
Does anyone know whether the upgrade for a 2017 GS withOUT Z07 is available? Was supposed to be "end of Q1 2018"
Thanks.

Default MRC Updata Ready

The update is ready. Had my 2017 GS non-Z07 done 2 weeks ago.
Dealer required leaving the car overnight.

my dealership did it for free. Perks of living in the country I guess. They are really good people and good to me. Franklin Chevy in statesboro Ga. Let them change my diff fluid also $120 for that I believe. Also did my alignment after I lowered. Find a good dealership makes all the difference.

I made an appointment in person today to have my 2015 Z serviced and the MRC update done. They told me it was $400 and change plus tax for the update. The service writer told me the program cost them $290. I called the service hotline and they said someone would call the dealer in the morning. $50 isn’t the end of the world but the concept stinks. This dealer sells quite a few Corvettes for a small town dealship.

Default Update

When I checked the car in, the service writer had the price as $350. The service hotline worked. On the way to the dealer, the speaker in the drivers door took a dump. $225 for the speaker, $175 labor. $50 deductible on my extended warranty.

The car has 16,000 miles on it. On the way to the dealer the driver door speaker started cracking real loud. I thought it was the one on the dash but luckily it was the door. They got one the same day so perhaps it’s not unusual.

The ride is definitely softer in both the Sport and Touring modes, but not so soft that you'll lose any stability driving on the street. I'd need to go to a track to test the track setup. My opinion is that it is well worth the $'s.
can you send me some info that will help me clue my dealer here in Edmonton in? They said they know nothing of it? I provided info from this thread and they couldn’t help me...

Take it to Sherwood Park Chev. They know all about it. Give them a call at 780 416 2438 and ask for Jason Glatz. He runs their performance and accessories department and knows all about this.
Not sure what they charge. I got mine done in Calgary.

Good thing you had documentation. Dealerships would bend you over the barrel.
What did you show as documentation to remove the labor charge I recently had the work done and I’m very happy with the results but I was charged $198 for labor because they said that labor was not included in the $350 MSRP. Didn’t think it was all that big of a deal to pay two hours worth of labor but I could not find any documentation that said the labor was included.

Default MRC Updata 6/25/2018

Had my 2017-Grandsport done. $280 GM Charge plus $99.95 dealer labor charge. Home the scanned doc's help. First image is from Pg1.
Paul Masse Chevrolet has been good to me. Love the car. I've had only one defect in the car and love it. Like to get a Z06 someday.
I had to leave car overnight. Dealer said it is required by GM.
I can't say night and day difference. My wife says she feels it. I also think the steering is a little easier in Touring mode, I like it!
