I am having the same issue here in Temecula Ca. Dealer wants to charge $470. Told them about the charge code for labor but service manager stated that C7 techs were very busy and that .3 hours was not enough time to cover the labor spent on the phone getting required info to do the recalibration. This is the same dealership where I purchased the car. Does anyone know of a dealership near Temecula that is charging the correct $350 plus tax?

Not sure if you can name specific dealerships or not so please feel free to PM me if required.

Thanks all.

Wow guys I fell great; just setup an appointment to have MRC updated for $110 + tax. Good timing, we go on a two week trip through a few states including Utah & Colorado.

Double check it when you're done. That price sounds too good to be true...

Makes sure you're on the same page as the dealer..you’re asking them to install the Chevy Performance Parts MRC Calibration Upgrade. Reading posts on here sounds like some dealers think you mean check and update stock software. The retail cost is $350, so at $110 they’re giving it away. They will have to call Chevy Techline to initiate, ask if they’ve ever done one.

This is the key!!

Just had mine done by your typical small town Chevy dealer, who had never done this before. They were very eager to help but could not understand this isn't a typical software update. Once I convinced them to call the Techline, all was solved. BTW, this upgrade is fantastic...highly recommend it.

Yep, kinda figured your Z06 was one the earlier C7 models. I also had a 2016 Z06 and it rode like a buck board....every little road imperfection and expansion joint, let alone pot holes, really jarred you even in the Tour mode. I now have a late model 2018 and the ride is significantly better.....in fact, much better. Good move on your part to get the update, it makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.

The new MRC update made it a different car. At slow speeds or in Tour mode it rides like my 5.0 Genesis. If you get fast, aggressive, or go to Sport/Track mode it feels like it turns even better. Make no mistake, I am not a pro driver, but this upgrade makes the car feel smoother when cruising and more precise when you push it.

You guys were correct!!

The service department had no clue about the upgrade. I had to take the details and software versions to them with the document id 3633837 before they knew to call TCSC (tech line) to download the update.

They didn't read the complete document because they tried to charge me the $350 plus labor and time spent researching i guess, they wanted $650 when I went to pick up. I was smart enough to take the document with me showing customer ONLY pays the $350; labor is charged to GM labor OP code 0602448.

BUT - the ride home was noticeable smoother. Well worth the cost.

Had mine done yesterday. My first impression is that it rides much smoother on T and S. Initially I felt like I was floating down the road when in Tour. Kind of like driving a Ford Crown Victoria. It didn't feel wallowy but seemed to have more up and down movement, and definitely less abrupt on the bumps than before the update. Time will tell if I really like it. If it was any other car than a corvette I'd be pleased but I did like the aggressive suspension of the vette.

I wanted to add that I have a 2018 GS with Z07 package. It cost me $350 + tax. It took less than an hour and I was on my way.

I am 1700 miles into a 3000 mile trip and the upgrade/update was well worth it. I have been on some pretty rough roads through Utah and enjoying the ride. The car has been flawless so far (knock on wood) mileage has been anywhere from 24 up to 30.

Reviving an old thread that is new to me... Anyone know if this includes the older "Rough Track Mode" update that was done early on for tracks that are super rough (like Willow Springs) and lap times suffered from it being too rigid?

New question: Once updated, can the software ever revert back? Maybe if an alignment is performed? I had my wheels realigned, and it seems the ride is much rougher than it's been over the last year since I had the update. But we all know how we "imagine" things after getting our cars back from the dealer or have repairs done.

No way... The controller doesn't know what your alignment is.... All it cares about is what that little travel sensor sees.

I have a 2016 Z06 Z07. My dealer says they "have no such part number" and "if it's not in the GM system it doesn't exist..." comments like that. I put my VIN into the TIS here https://tis2web.service.gm.com but the only update that shows up is ROUGH TRACK MODE... Maybe I have to update that first to even SEE the newer update? Very confused.

Any dealer that doesn't know how to update the mag ride is not worthy of working on your car. The part number is not in the normal parts system. It is a GM Performance Parts number. Nevertheless, go to a dealer that has done many of these or you are taking a risk you don't need.
