Yes, knowing how to drive helps a lot. He obviously didn't know how to drive. It requires far more knowledge than what you get to pass the driver's test or from years of driving at normal speeds and taking slow corners.

Unbelievable they both lived. I wonder if he was running from someone at that high a speed in a dam residential area of 35 mph with his illegal 17 year old “girlfriend “ 🐣. The street is so unpredictable when pushing a car to its limits.

We all make mistakes. Some, however are worse than others. I remember a few stupid things I did between 18-25 that makes me thankful for being alive.
Hopefully he learns from this and is sincere in his remorse. It was a great looking Z. I liked the custom color, black wheels, and white-lettered tires.

I'm sure his insurance company rewarded him with a sky-high premium. As MSG C5 said, hopefully he learns from this experience. He is very lucky that no one died.

Ok is it me or did no one catch this part of the article?
"His careless driving resulted in his crashing the car into a tree which not only destroyed the vehicle, but also left two passengers inside with broken bones".
Where did he put the 2nd passenger?

Well said, at that age you feel invincible until something like this brings you back to reality in a heart beat. I was definitely no angel in a car or on a bike at that age.

Jiefu Gong was sentenced to nine months in jail for reckless driving. In addition to the jail time, he was also sentenced to two years’ probation, where he will be barred from driving a car without written permission from the court. In addition to that he is forbidden to have any contact with his passenger, a 17-year-old young lady, and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

You, like me read the article too quickly 'cause I thought "3" people in a Vette. Re-read & realized "destroyed vehicle, but left two passengers***". Two were all that were in the car, therefore, 2 PASSENGERS injured.
