Default Hood adjustment, "how"

Ok I just bought a super low mileage 2015 Z06 conv w/Z07 perf pkg
When I got home with it i did some show prep detail to it and started noticing serious body alignment issues, starting with the trunk lid, which I looked into and saw all the increment adjustment marks at both ends of each hinge ad said to my self not a problem ok got that, so now theres the hood which at both front corners is way lower than the frnt bumper and the fenders so I locate the hinge mounting points and their buried inside the bumper area way forward of the hood front edge so the mounting bolts on the hinge bracket are inaccessible from above SO how do you adjust this without pullin the whole front end apart????

I'm just amazed at how a 120,000.00 high end sports car like this can leave the assembly line so poorly assembled and out of whack, I should have taken pictures of the trunk lid it was absolutely disgusting how poorly it was installed in 1 hour with no knowledge of how to or how much I managed to get its height right and forward aliagnment corrected I may tackle the left to right move soon its ever so slightly off but requires both hinges on right and left sides adjusted in congruity to effectively accomplish the shift so all body lines line up, so I'm sure you see what i mean this car was assembled "rush style" with no love nor care nor concern put into the hood nor trunk lid body lines gaps and hieghts. Just sad!

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Sal Munno

The panel alignment & gap widths on my 2015 Z51 & 2018 Z06 Z07 are all very good. Much better in fact than they were on my 2005 C6 Z51.

Someting wong...

Or just call to see if there are adjustment points easy to get to. Of course if still under B2B warranty go that route.

It's funny this post is up because, I was just admiring last night at how well the panel gaps and joints are, on my Z.

Maybe it was never "wrecked" but took a wild ride through a ditch or something and tweaked some things. You never know these days!

I have had a dozen plus Corvette's now, and they all have fit pretty good, some of the newer ones better than my euro cars, but I have had many of my Escalade's that needed door, hatch and hood adjustments and they were new off the truck

Yes, it's a good idea to have a trusted, independent body shop take a long look at it. Repaired cars can look very clean but multiple body alignment problems can indicate a failed attempt to return a damaged car to 100% condition.

Without seeing pics it's hard to see what way off is. I had some performance mods done on mine, which required the hood coming off. When they reinstalled it, the alignment was off. Went to a local body shop for realignment for $25.00. Good luck!
