C7 Z06 ?'s 15% Lower and 2.31 Upper Pulley
Hello,
I sold my '14 Z51 and am thinking about picking up a '16 C7 Z06.
I have a few questions.
1. Can a 15% lower balancer and pulley also be used in conjunction with an upper pulley such as a 2.31" or would it be too much boost causing too much heat?
2. Will an aftermarket heat exchanger and expansion tank solve the overheating or heat soak issues?
New to these vehicles. Thanks,

I have an upper and lower on my Z. Heat in AZ is always an issue so I installed (CPR did the work), a bigger IC and an expansion tank. For a single WOT run it kept my times consistent over few hours at the track. On a single highway pull you most likely wont see a huge gain. There may be more noticeable performance gains on a road course with an IC/expansion tank but other issues come into play there.

1. Yes. While it spins the supercharger faster than Eaton says is the maximum recommended speed, we've been doing it for years.
2. Maybe for street or drag racing, but if you're talking about road racing I think you end up just carrying around more hot water.

Sounds good fellas, I appreciate the response.
Guess I'm gonna get both pulleys and some cooling mods, lol!! It's only gonna be for drag racing and maybe a lil roll racing but not much. I only drive these cars about 3k miles per year!

You'd best plan on doing Meth injection at a minimum. It would GREATLY reduce your spark knock and some heat problems, both of which you will have. Tell ya I don't know how you're going to pull it off, that's spinning the hell out of the blower and you'll have heat and octane problems as well as fueling I presume because at some point you'll quickly run out of fuel on the stock cam. Again, Meth will greatly help with this. An NX lid plumbed for meth would really be awesome, but not necessary.
No matter what cooling work you do, you will have significant timing pulled after extended spirited driving or back to back runs. No getting around that. I'd stick with a 15% and Meth but I don't like to have problems so I usually go a little more conservative and try to find the balance between peak numbers and stock reliability.

I did as much as I could with out adding blower speed to the 1.7 which GM has raise blower speeds already to make up for using less blower. It works good
but rather than raise blower speeds I'm going bigger blower.
Adding a Halltech and coated headers are good mods that help underhood cooling
and reduce weight.
When you add both pulleys seems you be your whipping up a lot of heat. Lessening the effects. The 2.31 the guys I talk to really like it but with both might be too much.
I have no experience with it!

I do plan on adding meth and long tubes along with a ported tb and snout.
What kind of numbers does an A8 '16 produce with the following mods:
pulleys
ported tb and snout
Cold air kit
long tubes
blower cooling mods
thermal plates
tune
meth
Can 680-700 whp be achieved without swapping out the cam?
Thanks,,

Maggy says 629 rwhp stand alone on the lt4. That is about 100 rwhp
over stock then you just add you 2 inch coated ARH headers. More weight saving and less heat as well. Then the Halltech and tric and PTB.
Boom 680-700 rwhp and Then you can add a better exchanger and extra tank. Maybe even less money than the other way.

Nice Z! white is the fastest color
I would do lower only, because down the road you'll want more blower. So it will be already done for the TVS or whipple!

I'll have more definitive info once I get back to the dyno late next week...
