Default New Toy! Akrapovic Exhaust from MerakiAutoworks for the Z06

I just got a chance to unpack the Akrapovic exhaust for my Z06 today. I was a little worried about damage during shipping. Josh from MerakiAutoworks told me that Akrapovic does a great job of packing the exhaust and he was right. They packed everything in soft bags, then wrapped them again in bubble wrap. The box was a little beatup from UPS but the exhaust arrived in perfect shape! Thanks for a great deal Josh!

I can't wait to start the install! Anyone want to buy a slightly used Borla X pipe.

Does the Xpipe bolt up to stock exhaust or does it need something because it’s a different diameter? That’s assuming it is. I have been thinking of getting one but not sure if anything else is required. Thanks

I'm assuming you mean the borla x pipe. Yes it bolts right up in place of the stock x pipe. Nothing else is required. It's got less than 500 miles on it and in very good condition.

Yup, catless x-pipe.

PM Josh from MerakiAutoworks for a price. I don't want to advertise it.

Thanks! I really liked the difference the borla x pipe made. Can't wait to hear the Akrapovic!

subscribed. Grats on the very very nice system. Look forward to some install pics/vids and of course a vid with the sound!

Will this system require a tune since it's catless? Do you live where they wont get you on inspection for it?

Nice choice! Has your car been on a dyno prior to this purchase? I'd be curious if there are truly any performance gains, other than weight loss.

Look forward to pics after install.

Adding the catless X pipe will not require a tune and I have no issues with emissions inspection. Akrapovic is a great addition if you can stomach the price. I have it on my C7Z and had on my C6Z as well.

You're going to love the sound. I have American Racing headers and a F1A ProCharger and it sounds awesome.. I have the same setup on my 2013 Z06 and liked it so much I got it on my 2016 Z06. I plan on getting the same setup on my new ZR1 when I get it next year. Yes it's expensive but well worth it.. The carbon fiber tips look great to...

I did have it on the dyno but only once and that was with the Mamo ported throttle body and BMS filter. I never did a stock baseline.

Yea put their full system on last year, and I was a little disappointed, I was disappointed that I waited so long to purchase an Akrapovic exhaust system, now putting one on the turbo s I liked it that much, hope they make a system for the ZR1. If your car is a stick rowing thru the gears is like sweet music.

Thank you for uploading these photos for all to see. When you actually get to see the exhaust in person you instantly understand why Akra's cost what they do. The material is unrivaled, the welds unrivaled, the quality unrivaled.

We're proud to be Akrapovic's largest dealer in the U.S. thanks in large part to our price match guarantee. This thread alone is going to get a lot of people wanting to replicate your setup!

The X Pipe is only going to touch secondary cats so no tune. If you ditched the primary cats as part of the factory "short manifolds" then yes you'd need a tune. The Akrapovic X-Pipe does the same job as the Borla X-Pipe, what I mean by that is, no tuning required.

It's going to sound awesome OP. Post vids!

Top quality and sounds spectacular! Well worth the money. Always make sure you get it from an Akra certified dealer.

Does not require a tune.

Akrapovic has dyno proven gains. Generally an exhaust will gain hp because of less flow restrictions.
