Default I raced a Demon in my '16 C7 Z06 A8!!

Last night at San Antonio Raceway, I got the privilege to run a Demon. This guy had made 50+ passes in the car prior to yesterday, so he was pretty experienced.
He was not using the trans brake, as he had not figured it out yet.
So, The DA was +1984. It was a heads up time trial, with a bracket tree.
I tree'd him by .08 seconds off the line. I could see him slowly gaining on me from about the 1/8 mile. He kept gaining on me but I thought I would barely beat him to the traps. It looked like we crossed the line at about the same time... BUT... He ended up winning with a margin of .01 seconds!

I ran a 10.61ET to his 10.51ET.
My car was running a HT/CAI, Borla X-pipe, and 32oz boostane to 12g of 93 pump premium unleaded. My fuel tank was at 3/4 for this pass.
I also had drag star wheels & Hoosier DR2 Radials. Stock tune, and my TRIC has not been reinstalled yet.

I was very pleased with the times that my car was running, considering a DA of around 2K. My car was not fully cooled down before the run either, but was not totally heat soaked either.
My last couple of runs I was running back to back runs and the car was hot, and it was running 10.65 and 10.67 fully "heat soaked", still not bad IMO.
Either way, I gave the Demon a run to remember!

Good to see the car doing well, Andy. Your car is making good power. If you could cut a light, you'd be dangerous.

The demon reminds me of a heavy old Camaro you would use to go somewhere boring,

the vette looks like a sporty car, like it belongs on a race track instead of publix

Willie,
Not everyone can be a pro drag racer like you!
Hard for me to cut a close light leaving from idle, maybe I should start loading the converter?

I've tried leaving at idle on my A8. Definitely horrible reaction times. Somewhat better loading the converter but still slow unless you anticipate. I've only gone a couple or rounds at most with my A8. Keep it up Andy.

Was the demon running on pump or race gas?

A stock Demon will run those times on the Nitto's.

Add the Hoosiers or M/t's and it's game over.

You are correct, with a dead hook, they are about .4-.5 sec. faster than my car. The Nitto's they come with don't hook well.

The Vette looks so much better than that family car IMO. Nice work too on the time slip.

MOV was .0191 sec.

Yes, with a better light the Z06 could have won.

Not taking anything away from the OP.
