I just looked up the new ZR1 on Chevy's website and the based ZR1 at an up-charge over a new based Z06 at an additional $42,000 gets you 2.85 seconds 0-60 vs 2.95, well done LOLOLOL

Fact is they made the Z06 one bad *** car... The ZR1 is the big Brother and will always be a little better.. I'm happy with the Z06 on the street ( well so is the traffic collections department of habitual violators)....

could say that X10 with how many other cars? it's the cost. if one doesn't like it they don't have to buy it. it's either preference of looks, use, in conjunction with relative wealth and/or reasonable value.

In a couple of years there will be something like a GS, all the looks of a ZR1 but with the LT1 motor.

I really don't think one buys these for the 0-60 times. I don't even feel they are the platform for the strip. The car is built for a race track with turns. That's where it shines. I don't care that the auto is faster in a straight line. The M7 will hold its own in the twisties if one can drive.

Yeah. Who needs another about 20 MPH on the straights at VIR or another 800 lbs of down force.

Umm, I think it's more about the overall performance. Never thought of the Corvette as a 0-60 car, more about going around corners car.....the ZR-1 should be better because of the enhanced balanced downforce. Oh, and a ZR-1 is not 42K more expensive than a blinged out Z-06.....seriously....if you want orange seatbelts maybe, but for the performance bits not so much.

Honestly I thought the same as the original poster...
If it were my money I'd opt for the z06 as well.
I love the zr1 front fenders but the side vent and the rear spoiler are less attractive to me.
My personal opinion would lead me to the z06 over the awesome zr1.
The 42 grand as well as another 10 to 20 grand off last years msrp of z06 s..
Hard to believe we are discussing the 650 hp c7 z06 as the middle child.
Very cool GM stable and choices from GM...

Yep! Right here! Those track guys have the right car! For the track. But the street crew thinking they bought the end all be of fast cars is sadly mistaken.
