Would you move up to a ZR1......

19’ Z06 loaded up for mid $80’s. ZR1 loaded up $140k. Is it worth the $55-$60k price upgrade?
Not to me it isn’t. Too much of a price disparity for the upgrade of 100 HP. Now, if the cost was less (say $20k difference) then I would say absolutely yes.
But as it stands now I’m staying with my Z06 order and not looking back.

MY Mom Said no.. My grades are not good enough.. SO I'm stuck with this crappy Z06......
I believe we are spoiled brats in the first place. I love the Z06 and I am Lucky to be able to have what I got.

Considering that I have a Z07, and would probably be satisfied with a GS, I don't see a great need to step up to the ZR1. What more do I need? Another 100 HP? Are the styling changes something I can't live without? The Z is enough car that I'll probably never come close to maxing it out, so why not keep some cash in the bank?

When the ZR1 was unveiled i was drooling over it. Now, the more real life photos I see of it the less impressed I am. The interior is killer especially with the bronze accents. But I think the width of the front and the new front end is starting to bother me. And I hate the high wing.
The only one ive seen so far that I really like is the red one recently posted with chrome wheels and no side skirts or splitter. That thing looked amazing.

Life IS short, turning 60 soon and have been battling S4 C for 4 years now.
I was diagnosed with Agent Orange related cancer in 2014 and decided to sell my C5 and get a Z06. I had 38 radiation treatments and I'm cancer free today. Hang in there and never give up. Every day is truly a gift from God.
God bless you and thank you for your sacrifice and service. My father was one of the troops in WWII to go to Hiroshima right after the bombs were dropped and came down with a rare form of bone cancer at 68 and died. Linked? I suspect so.

My view is that going from a Stingray/GS LT1 with 460 HP to a Z06 with a 650 HP LT4 is a big step that you can feel in every day driving, both on the street and on the strip/track. However going from the 650 HP LT4 to the 755 HP LT5 in the ZR1 won't be as dramatic as much of the performance won't be felt until you reach the higher speeds. I know the ZR1 will still win out in a side-by-side drag race, however it wouldn't be as dramatic as a Z06 vs. Stingray difference.
I hope the guys buying the ZR1 truly get to enjoy the car on the track where the added HP, and track-inspired aero (wing) come into play. However, I have a feeling there will be more owners driving them to their local cars and coffee only to brag about the added performance they never use.

IMHO - the ZR1 makes sense if as a track vehicle. As a street car, it looks too cartoonish for my taste. This is one reason why I will not be upgrading - if they had used active aero to avoid use of that ridiculous wing, I would be more inclined to upgrade. The Z06 just looks better as a street car... Further, the ME C8 appears to be right around the corner - the favorable physics of the ME platform will likely bring the base vette performance at or beyond the current z06 benchmark.

All great comments guys. The more I see photo's of the ZR1 the more I'm not liking the front fascia at all.
For pure aesthetics alone I'm keeping my Z07. Besides the engine and carbon fiber open hood, I like my car much better.
So, with that said, my car right now is at Able Chevrolet getting the drop spindles installed, I've already installed a complete exhaust, what is my next mod?
I'm thinking a set of Gloss Black Cup Wheels from a forum vendor, they are so much easier to clean and the more of those CC brakes I can see the better. And very reasonably priced.
Besides that I'm not sure, this car is pretty much pretty damn good looking..
Thanks for everybody's responses..

I think that most of the people basing negative comments on the looks really should take a step back and re evaluate when you actually see one in person. Things change quite a bit. I also dislike so many of the photos I have seen of this car, but all that changes quite a bit when you see these cars for real and are not tainted by camera and lens foreshortening and angle distortion. Some still may not like things about the car, but I’ll wager the majority would wish they could own one even though they may never admit it.
