Would you move up to a ZR1......

I would rather upset if I purchased a 19 ZR1 for GM to release the C8 in 2021 ... I'd say this car will stick for at least 4 years.

So i would say the C7 ZR1 will be king for about 5 more years.

When I bought my first vette in 1979 they were talking about a mid-engine Corvette. I'm still waiting. I'm 59 and I'm not sure how many years I'll be able to track any car. I've seen too many people wait and miss opportunities and look back and have regrets. If the zr1 performs the way I think it will I'll probably bite the bullet and get one. If a mid-engine Corvette comes out and it's that big of an improvement then I'll worry about that when it happens. I'm not sure why there's so much animosity over the zr1 but I think it's sad that people are so pissy when it comes to this car.

Glad GM is giving us all options, but it's just not worth the hit for the marginal increase in performance.

It's not a knock on the ZR1. It's the best corvette to date. And it's not a knock to the future owners, because they wanna own the best of the best.
This is a discussion so that means we have the right to voice our opinions. And in my opinion, it makes almost no sense in upgrading to the ZR1 if you're a Z owner, especially a 2017 since it had minor upgrades over the 15-16 models.
It's more about bragging rights over anything else. Not many of us track the car. I know there are a handful that do, and that ZR1 will serve it's purpose.
But that's like over in the motorcycle world where guys are like, "oh man i need to get rid of this 750cc and upgrade to a liter bike".
Like seriously? Most riders can't even bring a 250cc to it's full potential, what are you going to do with a liter bike on the streets?

No way I would move up to a ZR1 from my Z06. If I'm spending $120K+ I won't even be buying a corvette any longer. I might be looking into a late model R8 or something similar for a little bit more.

I myself can not afford the jump without bring financing into the mix.
I have no intention of ever tracking the car.
Life IS short, turning 60 soon and have been battling S4 C for 4 years now.
And I have already made up my mind not to move up. I love my Z06 and the ZR1 just doesn’t justify the additional cost to me. It doesn’t mean I don’t think about it. Reason for asking the question.
