Would you move up to a ZR1......

I think that most of the people basing negative comments on the looks really should take a step back and re evaluate when you actually see one in person. Things change quite a bit. I also dislike so many of the photos I have seen of this car, but all that changes quite a bit when you see these cars for real and are not tainted by camera and lens foreshortening and angle distortion. Some still may not like things about the car, but I’ll wager the majority would wish they could own one even though they may never admit it.

If you have a Z06 I think it's crazy to upgrade to a ZR1. 50-70k more just for 100 HP, better cooling and the bragging rights.
The king of the hill? It won't be king of the hill for too long and we all know that. I thought the bumper was ridiculous when I first saw it but it grew on me.. I would def buy a ZR1 if it's around $100k w/ discounts as I think it's worth $15-20k more than a Z06 at most.
Z06 with 2LZ + Z07/stage two aero + comp seasts/suede wheel + black rims + carbon dash= $99,325
ZR1 with 1ZR + ZTK + Comp seats + suede wheel + carbon flash rims = $128,275
The difference is $28,950 and not to mention I can get $10-12k off a Z06 here in SoCal.

Right now i find it amusing how current c7z owners are upgrading to the ZR1 right away. It's a damn good car, but not for the price difference. Then in 3-4 years hopefully when the C8Z comes out, then they're going to be like, damn, i kinda want that now.
Why not just lightly modify your Z until that C8Z comes?

The ZR1 is and will be the king of the hill for at LEAST 3 more years. Until GM brings out the C8. And even then, base models always get short end of the stick.

I really don't get the argument about waiting and buying a ZR1 when (if) the discounts start. My 2017 Z06 is only going to lose value if I keep it another year or two. Will the discounts be more than the additional depreciation? Maybe so maybe not but in any case it will be pretty minimal and I'll get the joy of driving the ZR1 over that same period.
Same place on track, same driver, ZR1 vs Z06.

i agree and thank you for the comparison I honestly just see a lot of people that currently have a Z06 or bought one second hand and it may just not be a financial reach for many. I’m not waiting, mines on order 😎 plus, a modded z06 is merely a ZR1 stock. Now, a modded ZO6 vs modded ZR1? Adios.

Having two Z06's is instead of 1 ZR1 the best answer to me. One of each transmission. Made that choice before the ZR1 was released and still love every minute of it. The 673 rwhp on 92 pump gas with a stock like tune of a locomotive. Makes the Z06 very sweet!

the Z06 is no slouch don’t get me wrong lol you did choose to buy 2 ZO6’s which some would say is crazy it.. yea, it equates to one ZR1 or one Porsche and other cars but that’s not the point. Lol my other daily is a ZL1 and I have/had a Z06 loved it for 2 years. I bought it at premium yes and found a buyer for 75k (don’t think I did too bad) now they’re discounted substantially but it’s time to let her go. I believe for what I paid/lost in depreciation was worth the time I had with it. I modded it put down the same power but it’s not the same. When it comes down to it, plain and simple for example is at a car show/track what’s going to get the most attention and still look modern? To me, my opinion? ZR1. I’m happy Chevy gave us all options at the end of the day? Same corvette team. at least we’re not all in here talking about a mustang ewww

I Love most of the ZR1. But the side vents and the flared nostrils kill the look for me in almost all colors. Black egg and white / CMG with black wheels are tge only colors i think hide or dumb down the unattractive features I detailed above just my honest opinion. I love the hood the rear wing the blower and even the wheels are growing on me. I do have to say without the spats the front fenders now remind me of the last gen viper though! Never thought I'd miss the spat look lol.
