Default 2019 brake pad dust?

When I bought my 2013 GS I changed my brake pads due to the dusting issue. I have a 2019 Z06 on order, is the brake dust an issue on the new Z06 models?

Yes, Unless you have ceramic pads you will have break dust regardless of what year car you have.

Get the Powerstops about $130, less dust without paying the corvette tax.

Get some new pads and maybe your tech will change them out for free.

They dust but it isn't an issue. It is the nature of the beast. There is nothing wrong with brake pads that dust.

Also the pads drop in without removing the calipers on these models.

if you have ocd. like others have said, change the pads. because even a short drive will show a ton of dust. i did the powerstops. perfect solution, i used to clean wheels off after each drive because i didn't want the dust to eat into the clear on the wheels. i haven't cleaned my wheels in about a thousand miles. says a lot.

i have about 10 or so videos of my swap. they're short clips of my trial and error. if you want to see how easy it now it.

Powerstop Z26 is the way to go for low to no dust. Part numbers are 1405 for the front and 1718 for the rear.

If you want a quality aftermarket pad I recommend the Carbotech 1521 pad. A low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads.

Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

If interested I will be happy to help you out or you can order online here http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/ Use promo code z28 at check out for your 5% discount.

Oh my yes it is to some Bill if you care about keeping your car clean. I guess I'm one of the only ones that actually even cleans under the doors.

The brake dust goes all over the car. Esp lower under the car and under the doors coating the rims and calipers. Bad stuff!

I used to do actual car shows where judging was done with a flashlight. I know about cleaning every nook and cranny including the doors and in the space around the door hinges. If the eye can see it it gets cleaned or if a judge asks you to use your fingers to wipe the bottom of the door your finger better be clean when you remove it from the door.

I get a lot of brake dust out of there every time I wash the car but I like stopping better than I hate cleaning brake dust. When pushed hard the low dust ceramic pads don't cut it on hard stops especially if you do it multiple times in a few minutes. Right now I have a set of Ferodo 1.11 pads on the car and they dust the wheels and side of the car before I get more than a quarter mile from the house.

I wanted to purchase a set of Power Stop Z26 ceramic brake pads for my 2019 ZO6 with steel rotors. When I type in my 2019 ZO6, they say the brake pads don't fit my vehicle. I even tried typing in 1405 and 1718 and it still says it doesn't fit my vehicle. I called the customer service telephone number on Powerstop.com website and they told me it will not fit and they don't have any brake pads to fit my vehicle. What is going on?

Probably their data set has not been updated to 2019 models. Look on Rock Auto.com. They have Powerstop listings for 2019 models with iron rotors.

True, but it isn't fun cleaning the wheels every 50 miles or so.

My boss has a 19 Z06 and is looking for a low to no dust pad. Let me know how these can be purchased, and if in fact they are low to no dust pads. Thanks
