My 2019 Z06 just arrived. Should I protect the quarter panels from stone chips?
So is the z06 prone to stone chips thrown up by the front wheels on to the quarter panels?

Can't go wrong with this idea...

Can't beat the price either. I have them on my car and if I didn't tell you they weren't OE you wouldn't know.

Xpel everything on the side beyond the door low and high. And still use at a minimum ACS extended front splash guards.

Full length side skirts were the best prevention for my car. I still get a few nicks but the problem is nothing like it was with just the GM splash guards installed. I'm not a fan of the larger splash guards but to each his own.. Expel and other protective films won't stop the chips from hitting your car but will save your paint.

Absolutely! The rear quarters on wide body Corvettes are particularly prone to paint damage. You need to, at a minimum, place paint protection film in those areas and you need to do it ASAP.

Or go with splash guards, clear wrap, etc.

If you don't want to go the paint protection route side skirts and long splash guards will keep your paint intact. If you run it "naked", however, be prepared to have a car that looks like it was sandblasted.

I have my front bumper, headlights, mirrors and quarter panel/rockers with Xpel (about $800). Added splash guards. Your car came with 3/4 side skirts so with this set up you will be good.
I have no issues with this set up but I will probably do my hood in the near future so if you can up your budget, I would do your hood and front fenders.

Only the roof, backend, and top of hatch is safe from rock damage.
Everywhere else should be wrapped (trust me...I learned the hard way).

The films only stop the real small pebbles and dirt. They may make the damage less, but a 1/2”+ rock coming off a car/truck or your tire going 80+ mph is getting through your paint (don’t believe me google it). It does help on dirt roads to a degree or at the track where it’s usually small pebbles or dirt. . It’s not like we have a high quality paint job anyway.
There was a guy on this forum about a year ago and he did s cross country trip 10-15k miles with expel in the Z that posted on here. He said something to the effect the film helped some, but he did get a lot of rock chips and now the expel need to be replaced, parts repainted. So weigh the cost with the slight protection, possible bad workmanship, discoloration, dirt in the edges etc. I’ve tried them on several cars and now will only do it where it isn’t easily visible if it all.

I put expel on mine and the rocks can go through it and get your paint. The side skirts are the main defense!

I had the same thing happen to mine.
Although it isn't Expel (it's the other "good" one), Rick at Ultimate Auto Detail was amazed.
