Default X-pipe and horsepower increase

Just curious in what kind or power increase I just installed it over the weekend.

Saw a You Tube video were they did a back to back comparison on the Stock X, Borla X, Corsa X, and a home made 3inch Titanium X-pipe by LHTPerformance on a M7 Z06. The car made 578 RWHP/602 TQ with the stock x-pipe with the Borla it made 600/615, Corsa X 595/616, Home made Titanium 605/611. Next they added the axle back akrapovic exhaust it made 620/609. All on stock tuning.

My car is a A8 so I know it's down 20 or so to the M7 on the dyno, but wouldn't the results be close to the same.

It's on YouTube just type in C7 Z06 x-pipe test

Oh yea GM/Chevy should be ashamed of putting such a cheap X-Pipe on this car to begin with.

Pretty high numbers for stock must have some other mods!
Easy power from the intake the stock filter comes form the 460hp lt1.

Great gains can be had from intake and long tubes. JMHO!

Im currently looking at x pipe and bms filter as my first 2 mods. Are borla and corsa around the same quality?

In my opinion, the Corsa sounds meaner. However my car was a tenth quicker in the quarter with the Borla vs Corsa. I'm running with the Borla.

Borla is lighter and about $75 cheaper than Corsa iirc. Corsa is a little more exotic sounding. Borla more raw. Corsa is larger than stock piping. Borla the same. I have the Borla in my garage. Waiting to install

Well both are lighter than stock. Borla is lighter than Corsa as it’s smaller diameter than Corsa IIRC

Love my Borla. 2016 Z06 M8 Runs 10.825 in the quarter. Added AFE intake over the winter, hoping for better numbers. Really screams at full throttle. If it would only stop snowing in Chicago so the strip can open.

I think its an estimated ~5 whp for the xpipe.

Contact us for pricing on the Borla/corsa pipe!

I have an A8 with Borla X and AFE cai. The torque is unbelievable, I need some tires on this biXXX!!! Hopefully this weekend I will get my TSP 1 7/8" long tubes installed along with 160 t stat, msd wires and ngk plugs.

Then, if all is good still, pulley, tune and some cooling mods. I'm also a nitrous guy, so a lil spray might be on the back burner with an aux fuel cell with VP MS109 just like my C6 Z...

Can some one explain the HP increase they got in the test when most say a aftermarket x-pipe is only worth a 5-10 HP increase? The car was supposedly stock other than the x-pipe the video also claims its on stock tuning.

Yeah stock TQ seems way high on that vid. but dyno #s before /after can't argue as same machine with baselines. My car was 572whp and like 570TQ Dynojet M7 stock car.

Borla FTW !!! Gotta go for Max gains, why settle for less and price is right . I ran 11.1 127mph stock power on Hoosiers 1.7X 60' . Now hoping w/ Borla midpipe ( catless ) and AFE downpipes ( catless ) and Tony M ported TB, drop in BMS filter I see my long awaited 10s.

That's what I was thinking how can you argue when all the testing was done back to back on the same dyno and same day. The TQ was high but the stock HP was inline with what your car made stock. So would it be safe to say that swapping out the stock catted x-pipe for a better one such as the Borla you would gain more that 5-10 HP, I think this test is the proof.

Not trying to start anything but curious why you would "settle for less" (your words) and go with a BMS filter vs full intake?

It was a gift, but bang for buck wise many have shown great gains with it. I am excited to test it and if needed I will go full intake.

Thank you!
