Default Exhaust

What’s the best #1 sounding exhaust for a C7 Z06?

I enjoy my axle back Corsa Sport exhaust with the Corsa X pipe. The Extreme was just too much for my taste.

Opinions will vary on this topic.

I installed the magnaflow competition exhaust. Its mean and nasty sounding. Only problem is the valves don't quiet the exhaust down at all. Pretty much track sound all the time. I don't care i love the sound!

I like my Callaway exhaust. You'll find opinions all over the place as this is a very subjective area. Best way is to listen to some set-ups live, as even vids/recordings aren't the same as live.

ive set up corsa/magnaflow/billy boat etc and many more brands. Question is how much do you want to spend??

with my cat delete kit/borla x pipe the stock axle back sounds great and can make it quiet when you want.

Love my Magnaflow exhaust with Borla X pipe. Wish it was louder though. LoL.

Headers, no cats, no mufflers. Also cheaper considering you don't have to buy a $1000 axle back. Muffler deletes are cheap.

As someone who has changed every exhaust ever, and I am old, there is nothing like the sound of Akrapovic, it's intoxicating

Can you still use the valves in the Akrapovic? Can i still have a stealth mode and such? Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the stock system with a Corsa cross-pipe because:

1) Still whisper quiet and no drone in cruise
2) Brutally loud sound in Track under WOT

It's still not loud at idle, but I don't care. Car's flashy enough it doesn't need to idle like some cheap V-twin for attention.

Except when the car decides to go into V4 mode. Mine is an A8 and when it did go into AFM mode with the fuse pulled it sounded like a tractor. Luckily for me Callaway tunes out the V4 mode in their tune. If you are going to pull the fuse on an Automatic I suggest getting a Range AFM delete.

I wouldn't say 100% of the time. I have longtubes with no cats going into the stock NPP exhaust and it's only loud on a cold start or with heavy throttle. Idle and cruising speeds is pretty quiet. Cutouts are in my near future.

I felt the same way for a year or so. I had the X pipe and extremes sitting in my basement from my C7. Put on the X pipe and it was an improvement but the exhaust went silent once I hit the sweet spot RPMs I heard nothing.

So I threw on the extremes last fall, it is so sweet but loud. Someone offered to swap me my extremes for the milder version and I said I'd think about it. I did and I'll keep the extremes. Each to their own but I'm not looking for attention I'm looking to please me.

OP this is all so subjective. Its what you like not what others like.
