Why do I need a Z07?

I guess nobody needs a Z07 short of track junkies. But it's the top tier Z06, so why not and some people will notice/love the benefits. I bought a left over 2017 Z07 3LZ, pretty much every option, just this January, dealer had it for over a year I think. I was able to grab it for low 80s. Figure I'll put some down, finance it, keep the rest of the money working for me, and then I'll sell it in a few years and hardly know the difference.
For a daily driver, the only negative would be the Sport Cup 2 tires. Oh and the Z07 suspension is slightly firmer but still very comfortable in Tour. The package isn't all that involved, it's just Tires, CCB, Aero, and Suspension. Maybe a better question would be "Do I need a Z06". Not trying to sound snarky or anything but there's many better daily drivers out there, lol.

Unless you are capable of pushing the car to it's physical limits on a track or just really like the looks of the Z07 package, the only thing it does is really slow down the car at higher speeds.

Legit question.
Been shopping for a new(er) model and the base package checks off all my needs. Stumbled across a brand new leftover 2016 3LZ w/Z07 for the same price as all the others (1LZ) I've looked at.
Intended use is frequent, close to being a daily driver. I am in the midwest if that is of any concern.
With the exception of needing a better tire in the cooler months, what concerns does the Z07 have over that standard package?
Thoughts?

I had a Z51 with black wheels and the brake dust drove me nuts.
My Z07 looks great with the stage 3 aero and the brakes are no dust, and look fantastic also. I haven't tracked the car, and may not in the future.
Since I have to pay for the car and it is not crowd funded from Corvetteforum.com, I am satisfied with my decisions.
PS - I bought my car during the $5k rebate with Z07 package a year ago, so with discounted pricing and the rebate I paid maybe $2k for the Z07 package, to me that was absolutely worth it just for aesthetics.
PSS - in all my toy cars I had not had carbon ceramics and always enjoyed the way they looked and being the ultimate brake package on any Ferrari or Porsche, so the novelty factor was high.

Burning Brakes
I faced the same question when I bought my 2017 Z06. The CCB are great but come at a high price. Even with a brake system that will last the life of the car, they are still expensive. Luckily, the one I bought from Criswell was equipped with CCB option only, not Z07. I looked at it this way. If I bought a Z07, I was going to have to spend a couple K$ to replace the tires. That was the same cost as transporting the car from east coast to west coast. I agree that the Z07 package has a more aggressive look to it, but that is only functional if you track the car. You will pay a premium in gas unless you only drive city streets at low speeds and then why buy a 650 hp supercar.
To me, it came down to exterior and interior color, then other options. Since I was buying a 2016 in 2017, I had to find something in inventory. Criswell had a WWG with dark gray interior that also happened to have CCB, A8, comp seats at a great price. Have not regretted my choice. The CCB's are simply amazing!

what you said is true, but the cost to most owners who do not track the car is not worth it.better to put the $8000 into more options that you can use and make the car look better.it it already a supercar, just make it look better and meaner.

Seriously, when buying a car such as the ZO6 going by your logic, its entirely a waste of $ if your not going to track it. Might as well just get a reg vette or a camry for that matter. To say so definitively the ZO7 package is a waste of $ is the same thing as some1 telling us all that our vettes are a waste of $. I understand from your standpoint it is, but that's your standpoint. You don't speak for all of us. There are quite a few that have the ZO7 package that don't track but still drive aggressive and desire what the package offers. There are other reasons some prefer the package, but you get the point. As far as this thread goes, the word "need" needs to be deleted. Its all about desirability and objective.

I suggest you do some searching before you post.here is pads and rotors GM,not aftermarket,on sale for only $13,000 down from $16,000.what do you think just the pads cost?if you wreck a rotor?maybe you didn't know this, now you do.why did you think the brakes are a $8000 option?

I bought a 2016 A8 3lz Z07 w/sport seats. I love this car! would I trade it for a ZR1 if the price was right? YES, however the ZR1 the way I'd want it is around $145K, so I'll stay with my Z06 till the price of the ZR1s come down.

Just my opinion, if you can afford the Z07 option and can afford the brake pads and such and don't mind the stiffer suspension, then BUY IT!!!! If your trying to save money and don't track the car, then going that route would be a waste of money for you.
Aesthetically, there is nothing about a Z07 that is more noticeable over a regular Z06 except for the ceramic brake rotors. You can get a regular Z06 with stage 3 aero and competition seats, most people will think that it's a Z07...
