you are correct, it looks WAY better with them on the Z06. ZR1 is just badazz all the way around. Who has a deal on those??

To each his own. But too late for you two now you have become hater's! Just kidding!
But they did take the C7 lines and go muscle car look with the hood. But I have never seen a huge wing on a muscle car.

With too big front blade they should may get a 6 pack of those with the car because of where they are mounted in harms way.
With extreme look of the Viper I think that's what GM wanted extreme look. The camera has a color accent the orange seems different.
I call it "what was I thinking? Orange" I think the Z06 looks better as well.

Hmmm? 10.5@ 135 not 130??
GM listed the ZR1 at 10.6. The time is relative to the track and conditions
and Callaway and GM didn't use drag radials!

The purpose of the ZR1 is function over form.

The design isn't meant to impress the cars & coffee crowd or geriatrics shuffling past some doofus sitting in a chair parked next to his car at a local show & shine event blathering on about all his chrome underhood upgrades and how many coats of Zaino he has on.

It's meant to perform on the roadcourse, and thus far, it has accomplished its mission 100%.

I think both cars look amazing and for me one thing that I love about the ZR1 is that front bumper. It looks aggressive.

Great pictures BTW

Yeah, but my old A8Z ragtop has been to the road course more times than I suspect most ZR1s will in their lifetimes. They'll wind up next to you at cars and coffee with the requisite Corvette-branded undergood geegaws too.

But for the few that actually buy a ZR1 coupe and take it to the track and beat on it, it'll be a great way to spend a day!

OK, I've added a shot with the Canards on, just for reference...

i tend to agree. splitter looks like a snow plow. I just think visually with the huge wing and all it's just overdone a bit. And I sometimes think my z06 is a bit too but this takes it to 11

Love my ZO6 and love the ZR1, but that Konigsegg in the bottom pic is a work of art, and a pretty badass one at that. That looks pretty similar to the one that recently ran 284 mph on the road right near Spring Mountain.

Wow! I really enjoyed riding in your seat going around the track, passing everything on the track! Nice driving! Awesome exhaust note!

Nice pics, OP. Thanks.
I agree. When I first saw the ZR1 on line, I think the orange paint made the additional cooling vents and aero seem more pronounced. However when I saw it in person, I liked it much better as the car was the metallic gray with the low wing spoiler. Combined with the exposed Carbon Fiber hood and other Carbon Fiber aero, it all flowed together.

Both models look great, however, I wish GM would have originally just used a larger, C7R-like opening for the Z06 instead of reusing the Stingray front fascia as that probably would have provided the extra room for auxiliary coolers, similar to the ZR1.

Something similar to this design.
