I have both a 17 Z06 and 17 Raptor. The truck is much more practical than upgrading to the ZR1 for the street. If one is a track rat then I could see the need/want for the ZR1 though. I don't believe I could ever squeeze out all the performance of my Z so I'll never own the ZR1.
The C7Z was enough for me to realize that faster doesn't mean better. I'm not really interested in entering the braking zone of Turn 17 at Sebring faster than 150mph. I'm guessing the ZR1 is going to be in the 160-165mph range there. No thanks.
Trade em both for the ZR1. Its the reigning king right now and probably always will be for the front engine, rear drive platform.
why is that so important!! Just to brag, you would tell the dude to get rid of a pratical vehicule AND the Z06 just for the sake of owning the ZR1! Very smart advice! 99.9% Z06 owners will never touch 50% of the bloody potential of a Z06 in the first place! Myself included! There is a line that needs to be draw somewhere! Sure ZR1 is badass, so be smart wait a year till they unveil C8 ME than buy a ZR1 for half price! Not even broken in cuz its too much of a car for ol fart with too much moneys anyway!

Don't count on the ZR dropping that much. There are a lot of us who prefer the front engine and manual. And all that HP AND the big Azz WING. Love my Z BUT the ZR is just that much more.
I will not buy new, the dealership experience has jaded me, losing 10% in day and 30+% in two years is not palatable for me.
I own three toys, C7Z07 is one, purchased all used, all modded, and will try to add a used V3 soon.
I prefer multiple cars vs. one high-priced new model, gives me more options, no worries about warranties, I mod them without caution.
If, which aint going to happen, I bought a ZR1, I would rarely drive it, as where are you going to park that $150K car?? And then one day you will sell it, and take a massive hit, no thanks.
Stick with the C7Z, the Raptor or ZL1 will compliment it very well!!
Look at what GM did to the Z owners because of the ZR1 lol.
People really need to reevaluate their lives for a second. The ZR1 is a damn beast but it makes ZERO sense to upgrade for a ZR1 from a Z, IMHO. Especially since the C8 is around the corner.
You're going to lose tremendous money every 2-3 years just because a new model is coming out? Might as well lease your vettes then, if there's a program for that.
Is keeping a 16’ c7z/7 A8 plus $8k in mods with 6200mi plus a new ford Raptor or ZL1 1LE better than then just 1 toy.... the mighty c7 ZR1?
$70k is steep to upgrade c7’s but that car is on a whole new level. Not just a 105 hp upgrade over stock c7z.
its still a c7 the zr1 ain’t that great a difference. Any difference is small and incremental. Slap a Maggie 2300 blower on the z06 and keep the raptor. That’s a very nice truck.

Can i suggest the Trackhawk over the raptor..... Its like stepping into a luxury car from the z06, and it leaves the z06 in the dust off the line... What a joy to have! I would deff keep the raptor over the zr1.... A few mods will catch you up to power... and you can always send your vette to callaway for some power! Good luck in your choice!

lol. The track hawk isn't pulling on a Z. At least not past an intersection. At close to 100k the Raptor will suffice and look great doing it.
The big wing really is obnoxious...I just can't even begin to put into words how much I hate that damn thing.
When I had a Stingray and the Z06 came out I was genuinely blown away by how much more I liked the Z than what was sitting in my garage. If the ZR1 had the same effect on me that the Z06 did when I first saw it I'd probably be upgrading again, but I genuinely think they have ruined the car in the looks department. Obviously the extra 105hp is impressive and there's no doubt it's a better performing car than my Z06, but I just can't get over the Fast and Furious styling. As I've said before, if I needed the extra 100hp that bad I'd take my car to Callaway and have 757hp in much better looking package than the ZR1.
