Default First steps modding the new Z

Well, my 2008 is all 'maxed out' and looking forward to bringing the new Z up to its level. My first round of mods would say are relatively minor but gotta start somewhere. Most difficult part of it was spending a boat load of money on Akrapovic exhaust but wanted it to be unlike 99% of the Z's out there.

First round of mods includes American Racing headers, Akrapovic exhaust, MGW short throw, the taller blower lid that they put on 2018s and 2019s, Lingenfelter pulleys and new Gatorbelt.

Cosmetically Ive lowered it and blacked out the tail lights, windows tinted, Stage 3 spoiler. Also considering Side skirts and stage 3 splitter but some have indicated that isnt the best way to go if the car is lowered.

Wish me luck! HP Performance Corvettes has done great work for me in the past and should be all wrapped up by mid May. I hope to capture a video of the dyno and will post for everyone to review. Not a huge change but a nice start. Long term goal is to somehow find a TVS2300 Maggie, Chrome, along with a radical cam. Sounds like the TVS2300 isnt fully developed yet and they are only looking to do it in black. SO, waited long enough and will wait some more.

What percentage tint did you have installed? I'm getting mine tinted this week.

Looks like 5% which sucks at night. I have 5%. I think I am going back to 50% which I had in the past. This pic is 50%, 1 with door open and 1 with door closed, obviously.

I don't know...that 5% looks pretty sweet. I think I am going with my normal 20% all around except for windshield.

5% looks cool during the day but as mentioned, it sucks at night/low light conditions. 20-30% is a good balance IMO.

Most important mod right now is the side skirts! I like your mod list!
The 2300 in chrome would be heavier and very ugly! Looks OEM and great in black.

5%. I'd say I might be a little younger than the average Z06 driver and have no issues seeing at night. Even considered doing 50% on the windshield but thats just asking for trouble!

Thanks! My avatar is my 2008 and that bog o chrome football sitting on top catches the eye. Now, looking at yours (must admit that I havent seen one before) and there is no football anymore. Can you fit that under the stock hood?

I second this! You’d be wise to consider upgrading the front flaps as well.

I did 35% on the windshield and 20% the rest of the way around. Slight difference during night driving but it’s awesome when there’s sun out and you don’t need to put on sunglasses... plus the car looks amazing with a dark windshield!

I’m installing ARH longtubes and a cam (among other things) next week. I already have the Akra exhaust installed. Ill PM you my IG account if you’re interested in seeing a video post install, I don’t know how to upload videos on here.

Yeah that would be great!! Thank you

I'm dying to do a cam but I've learned the tuning is still a little complicated.

What did you wrap your intake tube with? Thanks,
