You are right, not a lot of difference at idle or normal driving; WOT -- BIG difference IMO.

I have to disagree. There is a drone and it is not pleasant. My 16 z06 with the Borla x-pipe sounded like a truck. I liked the sound of the factory exhaust in track mode. In my opinion the X-pipe totally changed the exhaust sound not for the better. I thought the x-pipe would help reduce heat and add to performance. I did sense a loss of torque getting out of the hole with the Borla x-pipe installed. Previous mods are the a PTB and BMS filter. Both of those mods improved performance. I think the x-pipe reversed usable power on the bottom end.
I removed the x-pipe and went back to factory. Power returned and drone is gone.

I believe so. Thanks for the clarification.

Anyone else with this type of feedback? I've used Corsa X-pipes in the past and did not have any drone, even with their axle back systems also installed.

I'm leaning towards Borla for the C7Z because I read the pipe circumference is the same as OEM, unlike the Corsa which I believe is smaller.

Lastly, just making sure we're comparing apples to apples as I'm looking at the Borla PN #60547 which eliminates the secondary cats but maintains the NPP. Below is the link to the original CF review that peaked my interest. Also, does it make a difference if the car is an A8 or M7? I was searching on line and Borla had a C7 X-pipe listed for "manual C7s" but didn't list a part number?!

Anyone do the Borla Xpioe that retains the rear cats? Not sure I want to risk failing a visual inspection.

Anyone have any current information or preferred vendors?

Thanks!

you missed RPIDESIGNS memorial day special (10% off). You could have picked it for $395 shipped. Now it is $439 shipped.

Corsa X-Pipe is not smaller, it's actually larger than OEM and Borla. Corsa pipe is 3" and OEM / Borla is 2 3/4 ". Corsa is double X pipe, and most say is louder than the Borla, but makes slightly less power than the Borla.
