Default Jacking Pucks that stay in

Anyone have a good recommendation for jacking pucks that stat on the car?

I'm not interested in a dealership or shop forgetting to use them and screwing up my car like they did on my Trans Am

I've got stage 2 aero kit if that makes a difference

I'm interested as well. The eye-bolt-in-a-hockey-puck thing is near useless for me because they don't lock into place. Unlike the OP I'm not looking to have them stay in permanent, just long enough to set up the lift...

Quick and easy to install. I've had them on my Corvette since it was new.
I did have to go out and buy one of the low profile hyd. jacks to get under the car though.

Recommended.

I have the leave in plastic jacking pucks like in the link above for a good while now and the car has been jacked up a lot by just one or all four on a lift at the dealer. No problems what so ever and I'm glad I bought them because you never need to go looking for or storing pucks which takes up valuable room in the rear chubby hatch.

And if your performance/weight concerned they weigh next to nothing, much less than the hockey pucks

Dave... I have the eyebolt set that I keep in the car for "just in case".... They will not stay in until you adjust each one by lengthening the eyebolt until it is long enough to get fully into the slot. You can then turn it to hold it in place. I found each one had to be slightly different lengths but ultimately they work fine.

I use Hockey Pucks. Then drill a hole in the middle, and put those plant hangers in,plus a washer. that you screw in the sheetrock. Works great.

I have the plastic ones also, when I took it to the dealer to have the differential replace the mechanic said they were the best looking of the ones he has seen.

Default Jacking puck solution

I have a simply, effective and foolproof solution. I purchased URO snap in jack pucks and modified them. A trip to Home Depot to purchase 4-1/4"X3" long Toggle Bolts. Drill a 1/4" hole in the center of each puck. Counter bore the hole so the head of the machine screw is recessed in puck. Simply install the screw through the puck and screw toggle on the screw about 1/2". All that's left is to jack up the car (Cradle lift) and insert the toggle into the slot in the frame rail. Make sure the toggle is 90 degrees offest to the slot. Wind the screw in until the toggle tightens into the frame rail. These pucks are snap in but I chose to insure they NEVER fall out! Been great for over a year.

I went with ZL1 add ons. Allen wrench clamps them into place. Easy, peasy.

Yes, some do snap in the way the URO units do. However, after reading that some have fallen out I simply modified then for insurance.

Hi guys,

in Germany we are using this ones made by me:

http://www.corvetteforum.de/thread.php?threadid=77871

They stick during jacking but have to go out before driving.

But I am not allowed to offer them here "officially" since I have no Supporter/Vendor account. Tried to get this account by sending an request to the place told by an admin but got never a response to this request - embarrassing for the forum guys but thats live.

Cheers

Lars

I've had these for my last 4 Corvettes. They so stay in the frame rail on the C7 because the holes are more narrow then prior models and I needed to shave them down a little.

I dont keep them in because makes no sense to me.

Thanks, these were the ones I was looking for. I remember seeing red aluminum thinking no mechanic can screw this up

Guys last thing I need is an aluminum or solid rubber hockey-puck going through my windshield. Let's not be lazy, its just simple to slip in whatever you use for jacking up the corvette after driving to dealer. I have been using the same set of hockey pucks since my 2001 Z06 for three models now.
