ZO6 vs Sport Bike

So funny and so wrong, another A8 owner who reads car and driver but is not a driver.
This is a great question and I'm glad you asked, so here is how it breaks down and it highly depends on the transmission type. Statistically if a skilled driver is in an A8 auto you will beat any crotch rocket even the moto GP at any skill level, if you are in the M7 Manual you will be lucky to beat your garden variety 600 liter bike. It's all in the gearing and 0-60 speed. The auto can do it in 2.95 seconds every time and the stick does it around 3.4-4 seconds if you are extremely lucky and highly skilled at best.

Oliver, the site owner is also a buddy of mine. I know this debate has raged forever, but as fast as the cars are today, the superbikes still decimate them...and car guys don't always get it.
Only way bikes can get beat is if the rider can't handle the bike...or off the line - for a short time until the bike catches up and runs past the car.
My '08 ZX14 can't take my AWD cars off the line, because I'm not a drag race guy, but it will blow right by anything a few seconds after launch.
There were a few guys on bikeland who ran high 8's with only a pipe, slam and 5" extended rear on ZX14's.
Somehow, I just don't see a Z getting there, and those were not the ZX14R's either, just the older ZX14's.
Can't imagine what an H2R could do today to a Z06.

What bike lack in aero, they make up for in sheer power, handling and braking.

Well, if we're going to be racing sport bikes off the line, the Tesla P100D is my weapon of choice.
Still, an old GSX-R1000 will run 0-60 in 2.35 and beat even the Tesla.
(Now launching a bike like that isn't something I can do, it's probably a factory driver. But anyone can run 2.5 in the Tesla!)

35-40 years ago I loved to cruise my bikes but now the comfort is in the Z06. Plus we used to ride with no helmet. I sold my bikes in the 90's
with the on set of the helmet law. I bought a new bike in 2012 it is not the same. I just don't ride it much it is just a novelty
Long rides beat the snot out of you. Other cars are a huge danger.
Other drivers today are just **** poor so many SUCK real bad at driving.
Bike is for sale! Z06 over the bike by a mile.

Sport bike has a high center of gravity and a short wheelbase. Power must be modulated (either by the driver or the computer) to prevent wheelstanding and going over backwards. That's why the car might get a lead on the hole shot. Have ridden my bikes against cars, and my cars against bikes numerous times, both at the strip and on the street, and while a pro rider may be able to pull blisteringly fast hole shots, riders one normally runs into on the street (even on the drag strip) seldom can.
"Launch controls" on bikes are changing that picture somewhat though. The driver can just hold the throttle all the way open, and the computer does the decision-making on how much power can be applied.
Dedicated drag bikes have things like extended swingarms, slipper clutches, and wheelie bars to help with the wheelstanding issue, allow greater consistency, and allow more power to be used off the line. These are the bikes that a car has little chance of taking on the launch. On normal street bikes without launch controls, the odds are so high that the rider will do much less than an ideal launch, that a car can pull out ahead temporarily.
Interesting fact: Even Harleys can often get a jump on sportbikes at the dig, because of their low center of gravity and long wheelbase, and the difficulty of launching a sport bike optimally and consistently.

Done it when I was on a Harley, had it done to me when I was on a sport bike, and seen it many times.
Harleys can be incredibly easy to launch well, not only because of the low center of gravity and long wheel base, but also because of the massive flywheel inertia and broad power band. Pretty hard to bog.

I much rather drive my Z06 anywhere over my 1000 cc bike.

I Got out of the bike hobby, after seeing a guy get knocked over by a car switching lanes and then getting run over by an 18 wheeler— his body got caught up inside the center space of the dual wheels of the tractor trailer.
