I'd buy it.

Correct! Most US spec GT3 RS don't have a rear cage unless a dealer or aftermarket shop does it. Unfortunate! I don't see why US doesn't allow for at least a half rear cage. I understand the safety issues of a full cage on the street.

GM sure is milking this C7 Gen. Hope we get to hear some details if there is any to be had.

Even if this was legit. There is no way we would be able to mount (retrofit) that wing to our cars. With the ZR1, it is bolted to the chassis.

Would this not be dependent upon the cage?
My local BMW dealer had for sale a street legal 4 series that was tricked out with the "M" lines best gear, including a roll cage that necessitated removal of the rear seats.
The salesman tried directing me to it when I picked up the 435 knowing I was getting it for track use. It wasn't too badly priced either at $115k but my wife would have expressed her disapproval had I pulled into the drive with yet another car the kids can't fit into!

I hope GM is FINALLY realizing there is a contingent of customers who like the looks of wings. The *** ends of corvettes have looked too blah for too long. My real hope is that the aftermarket industry will get their asses in gear and start manufacturing wing sets that aren't as large as the competition units are.

Plus, as Jay Leno confirmed, you can reach speeds over 200 MPH with the low wing ZR1, however the big wing version has a top speed around 185 MPH due to the downforce caused by the wing. Better for curves, etc., but it reduces the top speed.

You can go over 200 in a ctsv; doesn't have a big wing. I would consider the smaller of the two as an option for a ZO6. Altough they still look aftermarket.

Good call! I stand corrected on the cage. Maybe it's a Porsche to US thing only. I know Porsche does not offer their Clubsport packages for US, which includes features like fire extinguisher, half cage, etc..

The low wing ZR1 is limited to 215 (Chevy says the top speed is 212 because they did a 2 direction average) due to tires. The high wing version is good for 202.

So it's got to be OEM if real.
