Wife and I went to carmax to check out a car for her. I saw a nice z06 with 8000 miles. It had aftermarket tires which made me wonder whether it was hard use or the cup tires. Anyhow, any stuff to look for to differentiatate the different trim packages? I'm guessing that I just need to identify the carbon brakes but is there more to it(z07)?

Z07 will have carbon brakes and stage 2/3 aero

You can also buy the Carbon Ceramic brake rotors separately without the Z07 package as well as the Stage 2 aero. You can then buy the OEM wicker bill and Stage 3 front side spears as well, so it's best to go with the VIN # check as the dealership may be overselling the trim level.

All Z06 trim levels (1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ) have color heads up displays.

The RPO sticker will tell all. Each option and each trim package iisted on the sticker.




This is the sticker on my 3LZ Z07 car.

You can see the Z07 code along with FE7 which is the code for the Z07 suspension and J57 which is the code for the ceramic brakes. You can also see 3LZ for the trim level and if you know the codes for seats etc you would see all of the individual codes for the parts that make up a 3LZ.

Quick check........2 and 3LZ will have the heated/cooled seats.

3LZ will have the quilted liner.

Cool thing about CarMax...……. They don't differentiate packages on cars most of the time. They sell it as a Corvette Z06 + mileage. So if you get a 3LZ you will get a deal, if it's a 1LZ you maybe paying higher than what you should. There data base is an average of sales from auction.


When I sold them my 17 Ford F-150 Platinum. I gave them a list of the extras I had ordered (5K) and they said it gets bought and sold off of Platinum package. I got 9K more than other dealers, plus I wasn't going to go private party too much hassle. They made somewhere in the range of 6K on the sale. which didn't list a single thing over the Platinum package..

the last part is not correct. My 3LZ doesn't have quilted liner. I believe those are additional add ons, like seats.

1LZ cars are the easiest to spot.


1 - On 2016 and up 1LZ cars do not have front cameras.
2 - On all years 1LZ cars are missing the door sensors for the interior alarm.
3 - 2LZ and 3LZ cars with standard seats are embossed with the Z06 logo. 1LZ cars are plain. (All comp seats are the same for all trim models.)

4 - No heated or vented front seats on 1LZ


3LZ have upgraded leather as the main difference. (With comp seats they all use the same leather on the seats. But 3LZ cars get upgraded dash trim.)


Only 3LZ cars can have two tone seats others are only solid colors.


Z07 cars 100% have aero2/3 and CC brakes but non Z07 can be ordered with those options so VIN check is ideal.
