Callaway Corvette Z06, Better than ZR1?
#2
ZR1 for sure. Not even close.
New improved engine (not just bigger supercharger)
Cooling overhaul
new front look
revised suspension
Serious aero
It’s a whole package
On a 1/4 mile track it might be close but on a road course I am sure ZR1 will shine big time.

If I were to buy a new Vette, yes, I'd be looking at the ZR1 but I like the convertible and without pop up protection in a car capable of 200mph and costing 4 times what other cars cost that do have pop up protection, I'll not be spending any money with GM.

I have a Callaway 757 and couldn't be happier. Everytime i drive the car i can't help but smile and laugh to myself that something this fast is legal to drive on the road. If money is no object and you want better resale the ZR1 is the way to go. I paid 89K for my Callaway and i think if i sold it i would take more of a hit on the Callaway than someone selling a ZR1. Also if you are going to track the car alot the ZR1 is the way to go. That being said if you are driving it mainly on the street the Callaway would be hard to beat at 30K less than a base ZR1.

Pop up protection? Sounds like you need a better anti virus!

The ZR1 every time.
We have yet to see an actual dyno graph of a Callaway Z06 posted on the forum, unlike with the SR1, and it’s been shown by Callaway owners that when driven quickly on track, the engine will over heat due to lack of cooling.
Now if you want to go quickly in a straight line, perhaps it might be an option since you can buy a ‘stripper’ Z06 and add the Callaway package for substantially less than a ZR1.

Track use yes buy the ZR1, your going to have a huge track expense with both cars.
It is track use vs Street use. Not track vs straight line. For street use hard to over heat anything. plus no reason to buy a ZR1 over the Callaway.
I'll go 1 more just 1lz Z06 with 8800 in mods gives either car more than they want on the street. Actually if you gave me a 3lz with all the alcantana
leather glued on. I would sell it. I hate extra weight in a sports car.
1 lz everytime for me.
Quite sure the 1lz Corvette in the ZR1 is the best choice to track over the 3lz.

I think those owners were pushing the A8 on hot days not the engine just over heating.

Sent to Callaway for the SC757 and short shifter $19,000.00
Total $89,000.00
