I mounted my new Forgeline wheels I got from Gerry at CW4L - he suggested the "dark smoke" finish and emailed me pictures and I'm very glad I sought his advice. The color of the wheels changes depending on the light but I'd describe them more as gunmetal in color. While I really liked the looks of the car with the black wheels, I wanted something more distinctive, with cleaner lines and much easier to clean. I spent over a year looking at various wheels online before deciding to pull the trigger on these and I couldn't be happier with how they look on the car!
Then last week I had the car ceramic coated and the paint looks really deep & shiny now. I've put 17,200 miles on it in just under 1 1/2 years; the longer I own & drive my 2016 Z06, the more I love it!
I love the shine from the ceramic coating!

The Forgeline wheels are a nice compliment to the carbon ceramic brakes!
Picking my yellow z06 up from the detail shop tomorrow. Definitely excited to see the shine from the glass coating (modesta BC-04). I also got the wheels done and the windshield wrapped with glass protection.
What is the model number for the wheel. It is beautiful on your car. The coating is perfect for your car. My spyder wheels on my C6 Z have a similar coating and I love the color.
That Transparent Smoke Forgeline is great on most any color. I love it on your Yellow Z06. Black is too common but this (what really is a smokey grey) finish is striking.

They are the VX1 wheel with a "transparent dark smoke" tint. They also do a "transparent smoke" but it's lighter in color - I thought the black looked great but 1. it's so common now on a lot of factory wheels, and 2. you lose the nice contrast of the machining when the wheel's black.

Your wheels look great, love the color, I went with that color on my tts for the centers of the Forgeline CF201, and went with light smoke on my ZR1 CF201 wheels, love my Forgeline wheels, and Gerry is just a good guy, my new buddy.
