Default Ncm vir hpde 6-25-2018

After having the intercooler bled to get the air gap at the top of the reservoir reduced to a small amount of air I was able to get three on track sessions in on Monday. Here is what the intercooler reservoir looked like when we finished.

First session at 9:00 AM mid to upper 70s ambient air temperature. Fastest lap time 2:04:13 on final lap. Top Speed 156 mph.

Second session at 1:30 PM 87 deg ambient temp. Fastest lap time 2:04:25. Top Speed 152 mph.

Third session at 5:00 PM 86 deg ambient temp. Fastest lap time 2:03:11. Top Speed 152 mph.

The latest intercooler bleed seems to have resolved most of the problems I have been having with intermittent misfires and intermittent 10 to 13 mph drop in top speed on long straights that I have been experiencing over the past 2 years.

That's awesome Bill.

Glad this issue has hopefully been put to rest.

Great driving as usual.

Good seeing you out there Bill, and glad you hopefully got the issue resolved!

My top speed in my Miata was 104 mph. It's a '92 with a claimed 116 crank HP. Not sure how much the 26 year-old engine is actually putting out though. When new they typically put down about 95 HP to the wheels.

The 1:30 video is when Wade was with me. I think we passed your Miata on the Bridge Straight. Were you driving then? On lap 5 I took a late pass into T1 past a blue C6 and commented to Wade that was why I liked your brakes.

Vacuum bleed using the ZR1 bleed tool Vs the one noted in the earlier Service Manuals. Also had to raise front of car about 2 ft off the ground to get enough tilt to help air escape from the reservoir. Takes about 2 hours to get all of the air out.

I think Ryan was driving it then.

Good driving out there, and thanks again for taking Wade out. I'm very much looking forward to getting my head back up to speed and getting my vette out there with you guys!

Nice product. Well made. Likely to get a lot of sales. Completely unnecessary.
