Heard too many pro's and con's? Some say tune and others say no tune. I don't want to buy one if you have to tune? Seller always says it will work both ways but will not get the horsepower if not tuned It becomes a "catch 22" especially if you have warranty and extended warranty!
It would be nice if there was a chip that can change your tune from performance back to standard tune so the dealer isn't pointing fingers?(BullyDog..example)
Some intakes do require a tune but we would make it clear on our site that a tune is required. On the C7 Z06 no tune is required on Halltech products. Is there more power if you tune it...yeah I'm sure but you can pick up power with just a tune on a otherwise stock Z06. Every dealer interprets the rules differently when it comes to the warranty. But they will be able to tell any tuning that has been done. They can read the ecm to see how many times its been flashed (uploaded) and will know if the car has been tuned.
On a supercharged car an intake is a pretty big deal. 30+rwhp is not out of the question and that's power you will notice.
