I have an idea why.

I think it's for those who do those high speed runs, and a CEL pops up, now it's store and recorded in the ECU (even if you clear it, go back to stock etc), that when you take your car in for warranty work, it might get denied because the dealer might say it's from aggressive driving?

Then if you try to tune the car so it runs great, and you'll never get a CEL, same scenario that if you take your car into chevy for warranty work, you still get denied because now the car is tuned.

So it's like GM wants you to have fun with an amazing machine but you can only have fun a little bit lol.

This is similar to the subaru and it's wrx. The stock tune is SOO bad, it literally makes every owner do the accessport, then when you do. BOOM, no more warranty.

MEaning subaru purposely made the stock tune on the wrx so bad that they know owners will do the accessport and then they have no more warranty, so subaru doesn't have to do any warranty work. It's now all paid by the owner.

I guess it's smart if you think about it. But also messed up.

With as old as most of us are here I would think we could all be a bit more mature here. Why can't we just appreciate the fact that we just love fast cars. There is always someone faster and it's all about the FUN FACTOR 👍🏻

this forum has great info and for the most part everyone helps each other trouble shoot and problem solve.

Bragging rights and put downs and the immaturity of it Is good for a chuckle.

I don't understand the difference in throwing a code at WOT in 2nd gear, which on my car would be around 90mph, or continuing on through the gears to 140+.

My car is a 16 so shouldn't i be ok with no throwing codes? I know the 17+ models constantly have these issues.

Then again the last time i hit 140 plus was a while ago lol. I try to keep my fun up to 130 and that's it. Which is ironic because i actually have a friendly race with my friends hellcat that i been talking about on here lately next weekend if it's dry. I'll record it. But i told him 50-130 lol.
MY 2017 was fixed by the dealer no codes at any speed just like the 2015. Maybe you should take yours in!

Mike, earlier, I think you mentioned the larger fuel pump in the '18 being somehow related to a fix. Could you explain how that ties in?
