Blower whine

Rob, I had a M7 previously and have always been meaning to do a stock for stock run against an A8 to see the difference. Let me know if you'd be down to run my A8.

Definitely man. I should be free sunday if you're down. What part of central jersey are you from? I usually take a cruise up and down the turnpike and/or parkway on the weekends anyway. Let me know.

North Brunswick. I'm doing an HPDE from 9-3 on Sunday in Englishtown but with another one of my cars. Where do you normally run? I rarely do any street stuff anymore, so I'm not familiar of where's safe.

The only good stretches i know are by me though. 1 is parallel to newark airport. Either north or southside. There's a long i believe 1 mile stretch where cops can't hide on the side. But it has to be after the overpass for emergency vehicles (where cops do hide sometimes). Other than that, that stretch has always been good to me.
2nd is also up by me towards the GW exit on the turnpike. Going south though. Just right after the rest stop, there's a 1.5 mile stretch, maybe a bit longer where no cops can hide, this is leading up to the exit 17 ramp on the southside. I always book it on my way home from work there. Never had an issue lol
I don't know any good spots by you. We'll get together one time. Would love to do an M7 vs A8.

Just got my SC757 and it definitely has a whine. I'm really hard of hearing (too many years on an aircraft carrier) and I can hear it. My wife on the first ride asked about it, she said it's pretty noticeable. Maybe it's the larger displacement or slower rpm.

Ok that's a nice ride but how do I get some noise out of the stock SC?

you can also remove the cowl weatherstripping near the windshield. it could have its pros and cons tho, some say water gets in and others say the hood rattles. try it, if you don't like it, simply just snap it back in. without it, blower whine is a lil more noticeable but not by much.

My wife's Z06 has no detectible blower whine, I asked her and her hearing is much better than mine. I think you are kind of out of luck with the stock blower. Not sure if it's just intrinsically quiet or if, due to the higher rpm the whine is inaudible to those of us not blessed with Vulcan hearing.

Ive removed the sound deadner in blower lid, removed weather strip at back of hood on windshield cowl, and a bms filter. None helped sound. I believe the sealed cai going to passenger side is main reason. My wifes zl1 with roto fab cai makes a lot more noise. It is open and on driver side.

i think you may be onto something here, cause theres plenty of vids on yotube of ZL1's whining with only an intake. Its probably cause ours goes into the fender.
